BROOKLYN — For the third consecutive year, The Citizens National Bank is the Corporate Sponsor of a Relay For Life event called “Bark for Life.” This year the event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 16 at the fairgrounds.
Bark for Life is an extension to the traditional Relay For Life.
This event honors the role canine friends lend to their human companions battling cancer as well as beloved animals that have battled or lost the fight to cancer themselves.
Last year’s Bark event had more than 150 dogs, accompanied by about 200-plus people.
This event generating over $5,300. The event includes an opening ceremony, blessing of the dogs, contests, agility demonstrations, vendor shopping and more.
Pre-Registration is $10 (one person, one dog) and available until Sept. 13.
The first 100 registered participants will receive a Bark for Life bandana and doggie bag full of goodies. You can also register the day of the event.
From Sept. 14 through the day of the event registration is $15 (one person, one dog). For those attending without a dog, it’s $5 and children 12 and younger are admitted free.
