WOODSTOCK — At its recent annual meeting, members of the Bungay Fire Brigade re-elected Roy Chandler as fire chief. Chief Chandler thanked all of the Brigade members for their dedication and service during the past year.
Brigade volunteers responded to 187 emergency calls, including 102 medical calls, 19 motor vehicle accidents, and eight structure fires. The Brigade provided mutual aid assistance a dozen times to other districts within Woodstock, to neighboring towns, and to the town of Westport for assistance following super-storm Sandy.
Bungay Fire Brigade members collectively contributed more than 4,000 volunteer hours in responding to calls, participating in training and drills, maintaining the Brigade’s equipment, and representing the Brigade throughout the region in parades and other community events, he said.
Chief Chandler also drew the winning ticket from the Brigade’s 75th Anniversary drawing. Sally Keil of Woodstock, won the Generac GP5500 generator, the cost of which was donated by Tractors 2 Trimmers of Woodstock.

The Bungay Fire Brigade is a 100 percent volunteer fire department established in 1937. Today the Brigade serves West Woodstock and Woodstock Valley, and responds to fire, search and rescue, emergency medical, hazardous material, mutual aid, and service calls 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
