Accident at intersection
PUTNAM — A juvenile was issued a warning for failure to grant right of way at an intersection after an accident at the intersection of School and Mechanics streets, according to the Putnam Police Department.
Police officers, Putnam EMS and the Putnam Fire Department responded.
Police said a 2005 Ford Five Hundred traveling east on School Street, operated by a 17 year old juvenile from Thompson, failed to grant the right of way to oncoming traffic when making a left turn from School Street onto Mechanic Street and struck a 2017 Ford Focus operated by Edward Hemphill, 56, of Woodstock.
Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed. Both occupants of the Ford Focus were transported to DKH by Putnam EMS for evaluation.
