O'Brien named employee of month
DAYVILLE — Calleigh O’Brien was named the Westview Employee of the Month in July. Calleigh connects with students of Westview Child Care Center as a Teacher Assistant in the 2-year-olds classroom.
Since her own early childhood, O’Brien has felt a mutually-magnetic connection to pediatric care. “I feel like I’ve been babysitting since I was 6 years old! I’ve always been very kid-oriented,” she said.
She began working at Westview Child Care Center during her senior year of high school. Starting in the infant room she was responsible for four of these littlest students.
Considering that Pre-K is the school before school, she and her teaching colleagues like to generate a yearning for learning to promote students’ progress. They use a lot of hands-on lesson approaches to activate excitement within the young pupils.
A 2025 graduate of Killingly High School, she sees herself going into a Pediatric medical field.
She is strongly considering the pursuit of a Nursing Degree; citing the knowledge she has already gleaned through understanding students’ medication certifications at Westview Child Care Center as an entry point.
A resident of Brooklyn, she is close with her family. Her mother Corissa, father Aaron, and sister Aby enjoy their time together. She cherished bonds with her grandfather Chris and grandmother Sue.
She is a volunteer Sunday school teacher.
Katy Holzer, director of Westview Child Care Center, said: “Ms. Calleigh has been an integral part of our team since our grand opening and continues to shine every day. Over the past year, she has shown tremendous growth, truly finding her home in the Turtle (2-year-olds) classroom—while still being the first to jump in and lend a hand wherever she’s needed. Her willingness to step up and support her peers embodies what makes our Westview team so special. We are so grateful for Calleigh’s energy, flexibility, and dedication to our children and classrooms!”
