Car-bike accident
PUTNAM — March 17 Putnam Police investigated a car versus pedestrian incident at the corner of Pomfret and Canal streets.
Police said Kerry Ponte of Mapleville, R.I., was operating a Kia Sorento traveling westbound on Pomfret Street. As Ponte initiated a right turn to proceed northbound onto Canal Street, a juvenile riding a bicycle westbound on the sidewalk along Pomfret Street collided with the side of the vehicle. The juvenile sustained minor injuries and there were no medical transports.
