EASTFORD — The Eastford Elementary School . Annual Goods and Services Auction will be held at 5 p.m. Nov. 22.
This is a fund-raiser to help fifth through eighth graders raise money for the annual 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. The night begins with a pasta dinner for $5. There will also be a bake sale and a tea cup drawing.
At 6:15 p.m. the Live Auction starts. The Silent Auction tables will begin closing as soon at the Live Auction is completed. There are more than 200 items to be auctioned off.

American Legion Post #13 Commander Rick Carnahan, left, with Putnam Public Library Director Priscilla Colwell, Past Commander Walter Larochelle and Senior Vice Commander Ronald P. Coderre. The Post initiated a program of delivering the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corp Times to the library as a free service for area veterans. According to Colwell the program is a big hit with veterans. The Post also purchased the newspaper rack for the library and is in the process of purchasing a second rack.
DAYVILLE — United Services, Inc., northeastern Connecticut’s behavioral health center, has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Behavioral Health Care Accreditation.
United Services underwent a rigorous, unannounced on-site survey from August 25-27. During the review, The Joint Commission evaluated United Services’ compliance with behavioral health care standards related to several areas, including care, treatment, and services; environment of care; leadership; and screening procedures for the early detection of imminent harm. Reviewers also conducted on-site observations and interviews with staff and clients.
