Finally! A Break
The Tri State Car Cruise finally got a break Oct. 28. A summer filled with rainy Saturdays canceled one cruise after another. The last one, Oct. 28, was perfect with more than 300 cars, according to organizer Dick Salvas. Linda Lemmon photo.

Drug Takeback
Hale YMCA Substance Use Prevention and the Putnam Police Department joined forces again with a national Prescription Drug Takeback event Oct. 28. According to police Captain Justin D. Lussier, a total of 90 pounds was taken in. In addition a total of 611 pounds has been dropped off at the police station's drop box since the last Takeback. That box is open 24/7/365, no questions asked.
