Pomfret's website
launches Nov. 1
POMFRET — The Town of Pomfret’s new website, Pomfretct.gov, will go live Nov. 1. The site has been completely redesigned by Virtual Towns and Schools, a web design firm that has designed over 400 municipal websites. All of Pomfret’s boards and commissions have had input into the content of their page.
“We will have a tremendous amount of new content, residents will be able to subscribe to receive information they are interested in, and we will be able to communicate in a timelier manner with everyone. I am very excited to see this go live.,” said Maureen Nicholson, firest selectman.
She added, “This has truly been a collaborative effort. First Selectman’s Assistant Bonnie Ryan has done a tremendous amount of work coordinating with all involved and her attention to detail is clearly obvious. The goal of this website is to provide information, answer questions, and allow for comment in a convenient on-line format.”
LaBelle promoted
Lauren LaBelle was recently promoted to Branch Manager of the Gales Ferry office of Putnam Bank. LaBelle has been employed by Putnam Bank since 2009, initially as Customer Service Representative/Teller, later being promoted to a Head Teller/CSR position then to Assistant Branch Manager of the Plainfield Office.
“We are pleased to promote Ms. LaBelle to the Branch Manager and as a Bank Officer,” said Thomas A. Borner, president and CEO of the bank. “She exemplifies the best of community banking; and it is rewarding to be able to promote from within as the staff develops and grows along with the bank,” added Borner.
LaBelle has a bachelor’s degree from UConn, and is a licensed Life Insurance agent through Vantis Life. She is an avid supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and a committee member of the Deary Memorial D’Vine Wine Tasting event. A native of Connecticut, she lives in Griswold with her husband and children.
