Dictionaries donated
PUTNAM — Members of Putnam Elks Lodge #574 distributed dictionaries to Putnam Middle School 8th graders as a graduation gift.
Eighth graders will participate in a “Dictionary Challenge” in each class for one full school day before their “Moving Up” Ceremony on June 19. The Lodge will sponsor a pizza party for the winners and Putnam Middle School Principal Teri Bruce announced that the winning homeroom will receive extra outside privileges, as well.
Funds for the dictionaries came from a Gratitude Grant through the Elks National Foundation. Gratitude Grants offer opportunities for Elks to serve their community and are typically used to support local, charitable activities.
