Borners take
part in build
for Habitat
PUTNAM — Putnam Bank President and CEO, Thomas A. Borner, and his wife, Kathy, recently participated in a Habitat for Humanity build in Clark County, Las Vegas. The build, on March 10, was sponsored by the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) as part of their annual convention held this year in Las Vegas.
President Borner said he and his wife were proud to join the volunteer effort to leave a tangible and permanent gift to the Las Vegas community. Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas builds simple, decent, affordable homes for working families and provides a safe place for them to live and grow. The Borners, who are active supporters of Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Connecticut, are very familiar with the Habitat tradition of giving a hand up, not a hand out, to a deserving working family.
Over the years Putnam Bank has provided both monetary support and a leadership role in Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Connecticut by the extraordinary efforts of its staff in serving in a number of volunteer positions within the organization.
For further information on Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Connecticut, or to learn how to become a volunteer, call the Habitat office at 860-928-7293.
