WOODSTOCK — Roseland Cottage will hold its 42nd Fine Arts and Crafts Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 19 and Oct. 20.
Admission for adults is $5. Historic New England members and children under twelve are free. Parking is free. The event is held rain or shine. For more information, call 860-928-4074 or 617-994-5924.
The festival is one of the leading juried fine arts and crafts shows in New England, showcasing more than 150 artisans and their wares.
Craft lovers are invited to view handcrafted jewelry, glass, photography, pottery, paintings, clothing, metalwork, and much more.
First floor tours of Roseland Cottage will be available, and geraniums from Roseland Cottage’s historic garden will be given away while they last.
The festival is a wonderful weekend outing to shop, sight-see, and enjoy a fall weekend. Daily activities also include live music, children’s activities, and food concessions.
Art grants available
to Putnam businesses
PUTNAM — The Putnam Arts Council currently accepts applications for its first annual round of grants.
Businesses located in the Putnam community are eligible for a grant of up to $500. The grant will be awarded to one proposal for an art-related class, project, etc. that will benefit the Putnam community.

Performs a variety of administrative, professional and supervisory work in direct oversight and control of the Parks and Recreation Department. Responsible for the maintenance of Town parks, sports fields, related recreation areas and facilities and the provision of community recreation programs.
This full-time, non-union position is a salaried position, based on a typical 35-hour work week schedule. Frequent work during weekends and evenings, as necessary related to events and programs. The expected salary range is between $70,000 - $80,000 per year, with possible negotiation based on qualifications and experience.
