PUTNAM The Putnam Police Department is seeking information on the failed attempt to steal the ATM machine from the Cumberland Farms on Woodstock Avenue around 2:18 a.m. June 11.
Putnam Police Captain Justin Lussier said an active burglar alarm came in and officers found an unsecured door and nobody was found inside.
The surveillance video showed a suspect vehicle backed up to the front entrance of the store and three suspects dressed in dark clothing. One pried the front door open with a crowbar. Another attempted to tie a rope around the ATM machine but failed. The three drove away with nothing stolen.
The vehicle appears to be a gray Ram 1500 extended-cab pickup truck with black trim along the bottom, black rims, tinted windows, and a tonneau cover and appears to have a Connecticut plate.

PUTNAM — A Putnam man received five charges after Putnam Police said he attempted to pass a car turning right on the right June 8.
Steven Shippee, 22, of Putnam was charged with: illegal passing on the right, operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, misuse of marker plates and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
Putnam Police Captain Justin Lussier said the accident was in the area of 74 School St.
A 2014 GMC Terrain operated by Richard Milley, 74, of Thompson was traveling southbound on School Street and attempted to turn right into a local business parking lot. As he began to turn, a Honda motorcycle traveling southbound behind the GMC, operated by Shippee, attempted to pass the GMC Terrain on the right and collided with the front passenger side of the GMC. Shippee was ejected from the motorcycle and the motorcycle then collided with a second vehicle, a parked 2004 VW Beetle. All three vehicles involved sustained minor to moderate damage. Milley and his passenger were uninjured. Shippee was taken to Day Kimball Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
