'Person of interest' sought in multiple fires
PUTNAM — The Putnam Fire Marshal’s office is looking for a person of interest associated with multiple fires in East Putnam.
He’s described as a mid-teens male with dark hair and may wear glasses. He rides a white quad, believed to be a 400cc Honda. He wears a black or dark blue back pack and his helmet is black with color accents.
The person has been seen at two fire scenes before emergency services arrived. He’s frequently seen riding his quad in the East Putnam Road, Five Mile River Road, Cady Road and Kelly Road (Killingly) area.

Manslaughter arrest
PUTNAM — After a lengthy death investigation from 2019 by the Putnam Police Patrol and Detective divisions, with the assistance of the Windham County State’s Attorney’s Office, Putnam Police arrested a man on manslaughter charges. Anthony D. Falzone, 28, of no certain address, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and sale of narcotics. Police Chief Christopher D. Ferace said no additional arrests are expected.

PUTNAM — An 18-year-old man suffering life-threatening injuries was taken to UMass Memorial Hospital via helicopter after a roll-over accident on Grove Street Nov. 28, according to Putnam Police.
The 911 call came in about 4 a.m. and Putnam Police and Putnam EMS responded.
Police said there were two 18-year-old males in the car. The second man suffered possible minor injuries and refused EMS transport.
Police said preliminary investigation shows the car, a Volkswagen Jetta, was traveling southbound on Grove St. when the driver lost control of the car, causing it to cross the centerline and strike an embankment off the shoulder of the northbound travel lane. The car then left the roadway rolled onto the front lawn/display area of Parker Memorial & Stone.
The Connecticut State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad (CARS Unit) was asked to help with the investigation. The Putnam Fire Department helped with road closures. Grove St. was closed until approximately 8 a.m.

Car stolen;
suspects sought
PUTNAM — Early Nov. 24 a car was stolen from the Sunoco gas station on Kennedy Drive, according to the Putnam Police Department.
The victim said he left the vehicle running and went into to store, and the vehicle was gone when he came back out.
Two suspects can be seen in video of the incident. Suspect 1, is wearing a black jacket, black knit hat and black sneakers. Suspect 2 is wearing a tan jacket, an orange hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and tan work style boots. He is also wearing a large backpack.
