WOODSTOCK — Rudy Peiser, 59, of Grey Fox Landing, died July 21, 2020, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of Laura (Edmonston) Peiser. Born in 1960 in Springfield, Mass., he was the son of the late Adolf and Helga Peiser.
On Jan. 3, 1984, in New Mexico, he was united in marriage to the former Laura Edmonston. Rudy proudly served with the U.S. Air Force being honorably discharged on May 12, 1986.
He worked for many years at Raytheon Missiles & Defense as a senior principal engineer in the Test Development Department and was relied on by many as an expert in his field.
Rudy had an enormously tender heart, coupled with an attitude and a sharp wit. He was generous and kind, fiercely competitive, and passionately loyal. He had a wide range of interests. Rudy loved helping anyone in need and engaged in hobbies which included, boating, wine making, swimming, scuba diving, athletics, automotive repairs, home improvement. He lived life to its fullest.
He leaves his wife and best friend of 36 years, Laura Peiser; his siblings, Dieter Peiser of Indiana, Ingrid Boette and twin Christine Grosso, both of New Hampshire; his nieces and nephews, Nicole Tomkievich of Glastonbury, Nicholas and Krista Wolslegel of Woodstock, Kevin, Mark, and Scott Boette of New Hampshire, Robert, Katie, Kevin, and Shu Grosso of New Hampshire; great-nieces and nephew, Evelyn Grosso, Samantha and Jacob Boette of New Hampshire.
The Graveside Service will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 8 in Barlow Cemetery, Woodstock. Social distancing and masks will be required. Donations: The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Gilman Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Church St., Putnam.

Sculpture Affair
PUTNAM --- The Town of Putnam, in partnership with the Putnam Arts Council, will host the “Sculpture Affair” around downtown Putnam and the walking trail until Sept. 4. More than 20 Dale Rogers sculptures will be shown. The event replaces the annual fireworks display (reset for July 3, 2021). “Powered by” Putnam Bank, a division of Centreville Bank, and Wheelabrator Putnam Inc.

Scholarships
PUTNAM — The Wireless Zone of Putnam is taking part in the Wireless Zones scholarship program. Five $10,000 college scholarships will be available. Children in grades K-12 are eligible for entry and can register at their local stores by July 31. Also, the Putnam store recently took part in the Wireless Zone’s program that distributed more than 2,500 backpacks filled with school supplies to local students.
