PUTNAM — Feb. 15 the Putnam Police Department arrested Devon Ashton, 24, of 22 Marshall St., Putnam, for being a fugitive from justice from Massachusetts.
He was taken into custody without incident based on an active felony arrest warrant from Massachusetts for failing to appear in court on the following charges: Carrying a loaded firearm without license, possession of large capacity firearm, carrying firearm without license, possession of firearm with serial number defaced, possession of ammunition without FID card and operation of motor vehicle with suspended license.

The following charges were listed in the Putnam Police Department logs. The people charged are innocent until proven guilty in court. The Town Crier will publish dispositions of cases at the request of the accused. The dispositions must be accompanied by the proper documentation. Information needed on car
PUTNAM — The Putnam Police Department is looking for any information on an incident of suspicious activity about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 13 on Farrows Street, near Florence Street.
Police said two children, 11 and 13, got off the school bus and a silver Hyundai stopped near the children and commented to the children to the effect of, “ten bucks” and pointed towards the back seat of the vehicle. The vehicle then drove away. There were no reported threats and no physical contact was made or attempted between the suspect and the children.
The vehicle was described as a silver four-door sedan, possibly a Hyundai. The vehicle was described as having duct tape on the front and rear bumpers. The operator was described as a white male in his 40s with a short beard.

PUTNAM — Feb. 14 the Putnam Police Department with assistance from law enforcement officials from Massachusetts arrested two Putnam men wanted on outstanding arrest warrants in Massachusetts.
Police arrested Brian Perez, 43, of 10 Pomfret St., and Michael Nazario, 49, of 8 Pomfret St., were charged with being fugitives from justice based on the extraditable arrest warrants from Massachusetts charging them with, among other things, assault to commit murder and aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Both Perez and Nazario were taken into custody without incident.
