PUTNAM — Vinny Mazzarella was named Putnam Bank’s Employee of the Month for December 2017. Vinny has been with the bank since December 2007, and serves as the network administrator and security officer for Putnam Bank.
On receiving the award Vinny said, “I am honored to be chosen as the December Employee of the Month and happy to be a part of the Putnam Bank family. As we say, and I truly believe, Together We Make a Difference.”
Vinny is involved with many community events and charities, which include the Holiday Dazzle Light Parade, VJ Day Parade, QVCC Foundation Tackle the Trail, Day Kimball Healthcare Walk & Run for NECT Cancer Fund, and Thompson Turkey Trot.

Redemption Christian Academy 117
PUTNAM — The Putnam Science Academy Varsity Mustangs lost 117-81 Jan. 12 to Redemption Christian Academy as Dalano Banton, a Western Kentucky commit, scored a game-high 43 points for the visiting Lions to lead them to the win.
The Mustangs drop to 1-13 overall on the season. In the loss Luc Brittian (15 points and 13 rebounds) and Danny Ampofo (12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists) led the Mustangs.
PUTNAM — A Putnam man was arrested on narcotics charges Jan. 12.
Henry Tyus, 36 of 160 Farrows St. was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
Troop D – Quality of Life Task Force Troopers stopped a vehicle on Grove Street in Putnam for a motor vehicle violation. When they interviewed the driver Tyus gave consent for a car search. Troopers said they found numerous rocks of crack cocaine each pre-packaged for street level sales inside the vehicle.
