Pomfret
takes the
crown
POMFRET — The Pomfret Community School girls’ soccer team took home the QVJC Soccer crown, according to coach Karen Clarke.
The girls’ soccer team regular season record was six wins, two ties, and two losses.
PCS faced Parish Hill in the finals for the championship game. The team won against Parish Hill twice in the regular season. At halftime the score was 1-1. At the end of the second half the score was 2-2. After two five-minute overtimes, the score remained 2-2. Penalty kicks are only allowed at semifinal games to ensure two teams advance to the finals. PCS ended its season as co-champs.
“All the PCS eighth graders will be missed next year and we wish them the very best in high school. It has been a pleasure to coach such a talented group of girls who worked so well all season to ensure a championship outcome. Pomfret should be very proud to be represented by such fine young ladies who are such good sports,” said Clarke.
The following charges were listed in the Putnam Police Department logs. The people charged are innocent until proven guilty in court. The Town Crier will publish dispositions of cases at the request of the accused. The dispositions must be accompanied by the proper documentation.
