PUTNAM — June 1 awards and Scholarships were presented at Putnam High School. Sixty-one scholarships totaling more than $108,000 were awarded to 24 students at the ceremony.
William Hull, Putnam superintendent, said: “This is always a fantastic evening! The evening is a wonderful culmination of our seniors’ hard work as well as their high school careers. On behalf of the entire Putnam community and Putnam Public Schools, I would like to congratulate all the recipients. 1. To hear public testimony upon the Town of Putnam’s proposal under the 2017 Neighborhood Assistance Act Program, which program shall include the Theater of Northeast Connecticut - Energy Conservation.
2. To hear public testimony upon a proposed amendment to the Resolution adopted June 19, 2014 regarding Phase One Funding for “Q- Park” to authorize the payment of the existing appropriation from fund balance as well as from the proceeds of borrowing as previously authorized.

The Electors and Citizens qualified to vote in Town Meeting of the Town of Putnam, Connecticut, are hereby notified and warned that a Special Town Meeting of said Town will be held in the Daniel S. Rovero Selectmen’s Chambers, Putnam Town Hall, 126 Church Street, Putnam, Connecticut, on Monday, June 19, 2017, at 7:30 P.M. in the evening for the following purposes:
1. To choose a moderator for said meeting.
2. To consider and act upon the recommendation of the Board of Finance that the existing appropriation regarding Phase One Funding for “Q- Park” adopted June 19, 2014, be amended to authorize the payment of said appropriation from fund balance as an alternative to the borrowing authorized therein.
3. To determine the wishes of those present and eligible to vote at Town Meeting of the Town of Putnam upon the following resolution:
RESOLVED, that the Board of Selectmen is hereby authorized to execute a proposed contract with the Town of Pomfret for sewer services substantially in the form of the draft contract which is on file in the Mayor’s office and available for public inspection during normal business hours.
