PUTNAM — May 9 members of the Putnam Police Department responded to the area of Grove Street and Wilkinson Street for a reported car versus pedestrian accident.
A 2009 Subaru Legacy operated by Barbara Charron, 67, of St. Peters Court, Putnam, was traveling westbound on Grove when her vehicle struck a pedestrian in the roadway. Preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian, identified as Audrea Quinones, 39, of School Street, Putnam. as running in the roadway and involved in an unrelated disturbance/incident at the time of the accident.
Both Charron and Quinones were transported to Day Kimball Hospital by Putnam EMS for suspected minor injuries.
This investigation remains open pending further investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Putnam Police Department at 890-928-6565.
Fugitive arrested
PUTNAM — A Webster man was arrested in Putnam as a fugitive from justice May 9.
Kevin Andrews, 30, of Mount Pleasant Street in Webster, was arrested after troopers assigned to the Troop D Quality of Life Task Force received information from the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Arrest Section (VFAS) regarding a fugitive wanted in Massachusetts. The warrant was for failure to register as a sex offender.
Massachusetts State Troopers and QLTF Troopers met up with several Putnam police officers arrested Andrews at a residence in Putnam.

BATON ROUGE, La. — Connor Blanchette of Putnam was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Blanchette was initiated at Westfield State University.

NEW LONDON, N.H. — Megan Pickett of Pomfret Center is currently completing Colby-Sawyer College’s internship requirement with Colby Sawyer College’s Humanities Department in Lebanon, N.H. Pickett is majoring in English.
