Shred service
PLAINFIELD — CorePlus Federal Credit Union will host two Shred Days in the Eastern Connecticut area. These free events are held in partnership with Infoshred as a way to protect individuals from identity theft. People may bring personal documents, financial records, credit card statements, insurance forms, canceled checks, bank statements and tax preparation worksheets to be shredded. You can actually watch your items being shredded on-site!
The events run from 9 a.m. to noon April 22 at the Boston Post Road,, Waterford, branch and April 29 at the 67 Lathrop Road, Plainfield branch.
These events are free and open to the public. To serve as many people as possible, please limit your volume to 3 boxes. Visitors are invited to stop into the lobby to enter a drawing for a personal sized home shredder.

PUTNAM — Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank, recently announced the hiring of Ray De La Cruz as the new Commercial Loan Officer. Borner said, “As we build on our recent commercial lending successes throughout Eastern Connecticut, I’m confident that Ray’s experience and enthusiasm will serve the bank well.”
Ray graduated from RI College with a degree in International Business Management. He spent the first 10 years of his banking career with Citizens Bank in the Providence, RI Metro Area and Northern RI. Ray held positions there including assistant branch manager and Business Relationship manager. He is passionate about helping small business owners protect, and grow their business.
Ray was born in the Dominican Republic and is fluent in Spanish. Last year he, his wife Genesis, and their 4-year-old daughter moved to Danielson from Providence. Ray enjoys volunteering his time with the Ronald McDonald House of Providence, bike riding in the summertime, and spending time with his family.
He said, “I’m very excited to work at Putnam Bank, helping individuals, and businesses reach their financial goals.”
Dividend declared
PUTNAM — Thomas A. Borner, president and CEO of PB Bancorp, Inc., announced that the Company’s Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend on the Company’s common stock of $0.04 per share. The dividend will be payable to all stockholders of record as of April 19, 2017, and is scheduled to be paid on May 3, 2017.
“We are pleased to announce this latest dividend payment for the Holding Company which represents a material increase from the prior quarter” said Borner. “We believe that providing a return to our stockholders is an important part of being a community bank.
