PUTNAM — A Putnam man was arrested on several sex-related offenses, March 31, according to the Putnam Police Department.
Kyle A. Aldrich, 33, of 171 Providence St., was arrested on a warrant that had been issued by the Danielson Superior Court for the charges of first-degree sexual assault, third-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
Aldrich was taken into custody without incident near his residence and transported to the Putnam Police Department.
Aldrich was processed and later release from custody after posting a $150,000 surety bond pending his appearance at the Danielson Superior Court April 3.
Family Night a success
PUTNAM — Putnam Elementary School recently celebrated its annual Family Fun Night. This special evening allowed staff, parents and students of Putnam Elementary School to come together just to have fun. This year, more than 70 percent of Putnam Elementary School families took part. School Superintendent William Hull said, “This is just another event that makes the elementary school a special place. Congratulations to the staff of the school, Family Resource Center and the PTO on an outstanding job.”
Activities included music by the Toe Jam Puppet band, Dino-Man, Kidding Around with Yoga, Reptile Man, and Artique. In addition, families enjoyed Bubble Fun, family fun games through the Family Resource Center, family photos by Nora and the Preschool Art Show. The event is planned by the Putnam Elementary Staff and Putnam Elementary PTO.
PUTNAM — Yoga studios are joining forces: Beginning May 1 Strong Body/Strong Mind Family Yoga and Glow Aerial Yoga & Wellness will begin sharing studio space at Glow’s current 75 Main St. location downtown.
Rhonda Wishart, owner of Strong Body/Strong Mind, and Lori McDermott, owner of Glow Aerial Yoga, said they will celebrate with a Grand Reopening Celebration May 5.
The Putnam Business Association will present a Grand Reopening plaque at 5:30 p.m., followed by an open house at the studio until 7:30.
Joining together their two businesses to operate under one roof was an easy transition for them.
As much as sharing studio space supports their businesses, it is also an extension of their shared vision: to cultivate community and well-being through yoga.
