The Putnam Clippers clinched a state playoff berth after a 37 to 29 win over Cheney Tech. It was the team's eighth win of the season moving them to an 8-6 record. The Clippers were led by Sabastian Ramos who scored 14 points and was the only player in double digits. The Clippers have now won three straight games and look to keep rolling behind their senior Lucas Bastilio and Zack Cutler as they look to get tuned in for postseason play. Sophomore Sebastian Ramos has been effective all year with his ability to put the ball in the basket and facilitate to his teammates.

Malik Ondigo leads the PSA Squad to their 23rd win on the season with a team-high 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds, as Eric Ayala was right where he left off as he scored 18 points and dished out six assists and grabbed five rebounds. Issac Kante scored 13 points and brought down five boards, while Alexis Yetna scored 10 points and controlled six rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and three steals, and Malik Curry finished the game with eight points and the Mustangs are now 23-5 on the season.

The Golden Knights go on the road to take on Governors Academy and battled against one of the top teams in the NEPSAC Class B and jumped out of the gate early getting out to a 16-7 but then some turnovers allowed the opponents to tie it up at the half. Marianapolis was led by Joe Del Ricci who finished the game with 19 points, sinking five 3-pointers, and Marley Blommers finished the game with 17 points, grabbed four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Tyler Burton was also a huge factor in this game as he finished the game with eight points, grabbed nine rebounds, three assists, and four steals and a blocked shot

Montville 64
Seamus Barry leads the Montville Indians past the Centaurs by scoring 14 points as his teammate Gennaro Davis also put up 14 points and the Indians earned their first ECC victory of the season with a 64-60 win over Woodstock. Cam Collins finished the game with 13 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for Montville who move to 4-11, 1-7 on the year. Chase Andersen leads Woodstock with a game-high 28 points for the Centaurs who drop to 6-8, 3-4 so far on the year.

Paul Chasse leads Bacon by scoring 14 points and Zak Sedor added 13 of his own for the Bobcats who move to 7-6 on the season, whereas Luke Desaulnier scored a game-high 16 points, Gavin Turner finished the game with eight points, and Jared Gosper recorded six points and six assists for the Redmen who drop to 5-9, 2-4 on the year so far.

The Windham Whippets were led by Willie Brown who scored 16 points and dished out seven dimes and Clifford Jones who both score 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Andrew Gonzalez added 10 points and Brayden Barbosa Ramos scored seven points and three scorers with six points and Joseph Perez was one of them and he also controlled 15 rebounds. The Whippets control the victory and move to 9-5 on the year. Tourtellotte was led by Josh Dodd and Spencer Fulone who each scored 11 points, and Ben Leveille scored five points and the Tigers are now (6-10, 2-7)

KeAndre Fair was the top scorer in the game as he sank eight 3-pointers in route to his game-high 26 points while WE-R1 guard and newcomer to the program Malik Curry tallied 21 of his own points and had five assists. Jaheam Cornwall finished the game with 11 points and five assists, Lapri McCray Pace finished with nine points, Malik Ondigo had eight points and eight rebounds, and Issac Kante finished with seven points and six rebounds as the Mustangs move to 22-5 on the year.

Nate Patenaude, Amir Paul, and Liam Jacobs all share the top spot with 17 points apiece in the battle at home against Redemption and come up just short but only lost their third game on the season. Jordan Pettway finished the game with 12 points, while Dan Porcic and Manny Warren each had eight points, and the Varsity squad stays hot scoring the ball.

Simon Silvia leads the Tigers to a 6-9 record as the Tourtellotte Tigers take down the Saints by 7 points as Simon finished the game with a team-high 13 points, while Evan Ware continued to put the ball in the hoop scoring 12 points and move to a 6-9, 2-6 record on the year. Connor Svab leads St. Bernard with 20 points in the close battle with Thompson.

The Golden Knights were led by Joe Del Ricci with 16 points in a loss to Kingswoods. Marley Blommers had 11 points and nine rebounds, while Stephon Baxter added 10 points, four assists, three steals and Tyler Burton had nine points and nine rebounds for Marianapolis (6-9).

Brandon Hurst paces the way for the Mustangs as he scores a team-high 16 points sinking a couple threes, and Jaheam Cornwall scored 14 points and five assists. Akok Akok who is really starting to play well for PSA, finished the game with 13 points, while Eric Ayala finished with 12 points and dished out 6 assists. Kentravious Jones finished the game with 12 points and five rebounds, and Adham Floyd had 11 points and Malik Curry totaled 10 points as the Mustangs moved to (21-5). The story in this game was the 45 points that Brian Alvey scored for Score Academy sinking 12- 3-pointers and all of his 45 were earned from good defense from the Mustangs.

Jan. 27 the Centaurs and the Redman squared off and the contest ended with Woodstock beating Killing by a score of 56-37.
The contest was a tale of two halves, where the Redman came out of the gate the making shots and getting defensive stops but both teams played with a slow pace and ran offense in the half court sets. It was a 16-14 lead for Killingly at the half. In the second half was the complete opposite where Woodstock came out in a new defense, the pace just picked up and became a transition game. Woodstock started forcing turnovers and took the lead against Killingly. Then Nick Short from Woodstock caught fire and scored all of his 14 points in the third quarter. The Centaurs maintained the lead 35-30 going into the final period and that’s where Woodstock opened up the lead behind Chase Anderson. Anderson scored team high 17 points, scored six of them in the fourth quarter. Cole Hackett scored 15 points in the game, scoring eight of them in the final period. The Centaurs finished the game on a 21-7 run to control the win 56-37, but Killingly was in the game throughout the game before going cold late. Luke Desaulnier leads the team with 12 points, Gavin Turner scored nine points, and Jared Gosper finished the game with eight points. This moves Killingly to 7-7 and Woodstock is 6-7.

Eric Ayala continues to put up buckets as he stepped up in the National Prep School Invitational at Rhode Island College. He scored 24 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and tallied four assists to lead Putnam Science Academy past Orangeville Prep from Canada by 10 points. Malik Ondigo played very well offensively and scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds and received an offer from the University of Pittsburgh after the game. Jaheam Cornwall finished the game with 14 points and Alexis Yetna scored 12 points and brought down six rebounds for the Mustangs who move to 20-5 on the season.

The Golden Knights faced off with the Berkshire school at their place and took an early lead and maintained it behind the scoring coming from Tyler Burton who finished with 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and Stephon Baxter who finished with 12 points. Joe Del Ricci led the team in scoring with 15 points and move to 7-8 on the year. Owen Soontjens finished with 10 points including two three pointers.

Eric Ayala leads the Mustangs enroute to his 16 points and five assists, while having help from Alexis Yetna who had 14 points and 11 rebounds, KeAndre Fair had 12 points hitting a few from down-town, and Lapri McCray Pace had 10 points and five rebounds. Malik Ondigo finished the game with eight points and six rebounds for the Mustangs as they fall by one point to move to 19-5 on the season.

In the primetime matchup between the two neighboring schools, the Putnam Clippers traveled to Thompson where they squared off against the eye of the Tigers. The game was close through three quarters when the score was 34-31. In the final period, the Clippers got behind their senior leader Lucas Bastilio who scored 14 points in the fourth quarter enroute to his game-high 27 points and 12 rebounds. The Clippers held the Tigers to one basket in the final quarter with the 19-2 run to win the game 53-33 and move to 6-6 on the season. Most importantly it snapped a four-game losing skid. Sebastian Ramos scored seven points, while Zack Cutler and Austin Harmon both scored six points, and Connor Holloman scored five points. The Tigers were led by Simon Silvia who finished the game with 13 points, and Evan Ware scored nine points as Tourtellotte falls to 5-8 on the campaign.

A day after a triple overtime game, signs of fatigue showed in some legs but the Mustangs bounce back in a great second half of the game after going into the break up two points. PSA was led by the outside shooting from KeAndre Fair, who sank five three-pointers, and Brandon Hurst who hit three three-pointers scoring 15 points each. Inside game was good with Issac Kante scoring 13 points and five rebounds, Malik Ondigo had 10 points, and Alexis Yetna had seven points, eight rebounds, and four blocks. Malik Curry had nine points and had five assists, while Eric Ayala had nine points, four rebounds, and Lapri McCray-Pace had six points and grabbed six rebounds. Jaheam Cornwall finished the game with five points but eight assists for the Mustangs who now move to (19-4).

The Golden Knights took on a very good Brooks Academy who came onto the campus of Marianapolis undefeated and challenged the Knights from the opening jump. Knights battled the entire game but fell 57-42. Marianapolis (6-8) was led by Joe Del Ricci who scored a team-high 17 points, and 13 of which came from the charity stripe. Stephon Baxter finished the game with nine points, and Marley Blommers had six points and four rebounds.

The Griffins were paced by Christian Wilson who finished the game with 20 points and move their record to (5-8) as the team battled back from an early deficit to take home the win.

Waterford and Woodstock squared off for a very competitive game and Waterford had two 20-point scorers as Mike Buscetto leads the game with 24 points and Colin Shannon had 20 points to lift the Lancers over the Centaurs. Woodstock was paced by Cole Hackett who scored a team-high 16 points and Nick Short who also scored 14 points. Jared Bouten scored 10 points and Chase Anderson contributes six points for the Centaurs (5-7).

Commonwealth Academy 113 (3OT)
In a rematch in the Power 5 conference, the PSA mustangs traveled to Springfield in hopes to get redemption against the Commonwealth Academy Tornados who beat them at home for their second loss of the season. As expected was another great game which not only did they play all of regulation, but took three overtime periods for the game to be finalized where the PSA Mustangs left with the victory as they were behind the French Menace Alexis Yetna who finished with an incredible 30 points and grabbed 22 rebounds and was just a beast all over the court. Eric Ayala was great once again as he totaled 25 points, dished out 5 assists, and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Mustangs cruise to their fifth win in a row (18-4). Jaheam Cornwall was also on fire from downtown again as he scored 24 points and dished out three assists in the win. New additions to the team Malik Curry totaled 13 points in the game as Kentravious Jones scored four points but grabbed seven rebounds.

Killingly defeats Montville behind the scoring efforts of three players in double digits, led by Jared Gosper who had a game high 12 points and had five assists. Luke Desaulnier contributed with 11 points for the Redman, while Dommoy Ennis tallied 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Redman move to 7-6, 2-3 on the season and kept Montville winless in conference play, as the Indians move to 4-10, 0-6. Gavin Turner also scored nine points and had five rebounds, while Sean Johndrow scored six points in the game.

St. Thomas More Varsity 81
The Putnam Science Varsity controlled the game from the opening jump enroute to a 119 to 81 victory at home over the St. Thomas More varsity squad. Amir Paul leads the way for PSA with 31 points as he was joining by Alex White who had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Nate Patenaude put up 17 points and Liam Jacobs had 16 points to go along with eight rebounds. Manny Warren also contributed 11 points while Dan Porcic scored nine points in the victory moving the varsity team to 15-3 on the season.
Lyman 42
Killingly 41
The Redman lost a very close game to Lyman where Lyman made a turnover on an ill-advised pass over the middle of the court, which was stolen by the Killingly, but the Bulldogs (8-6) scored a basket to go-ahead by three points and as the game was close the whole way. But the Redman come up just short after the finger roll layup by Dave Lopez Jr. to put Lyman up three, but then they got a steal of their own down just one point after a trip to the free throw line where Gavin Turner converted on both, but Killingly just didn’t get a good look at the game winning basket and move to 6-6 on the season. Dommoy Ennis leads the Killingly in scoring and rebounding with a total of 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Jared Gosper scored 10 points for Killingly, while Sean Johndrow scored five, and Gavin Turner scored four. David Lopez leads Lyman to the Victory with 14 points and Kory Lazur had 10 points as well.

The Tourtellotte Tigers squared off against Grasso Tech where Tigers were paced by Evan Ware who scored a game-high 20 points in the contest, including eight points from the free throw line and the contributions from Simon Silvia who scored four baskets and a pair of free throws and the and-one basket for 11 points in the game. Jackson Padula who also scored double digits with 10 points, Devin Barbour scored eight points, and Ben Leveille scored six points for Tourtellotte who moves to (5-9) this year.
