On dean’s list
WORCESTER — Daniel Murphy, a second year student, was named to the dean’s list for the second semester at the College of the Holy Cross. He is the son of Emily Jacobs Murphy of Woodstock. He is majoring in political science and international relations.
New offices
PUTNAM — The Putnam Board of Education offices have moved into their new office space at Putnam High School. The Board of Education new offices are part of the renovation of Putnam High School.
The new office space allows for all central office personnel to be in one office suite allowing for greater collaboration and efficiency. Phone numbers and email addresses for central office personnel will remain the same.
The new mailing address is: Putnam Board of Education Offices, 152 Woodstock Ave., Putnam, CT 06260.
Superintendent William Hull said, “We will miss our old offices and the easy relationship with town officials, however, our new office suite allows for a more streamline operation of all school departments.”
CorePlus Shred Days
NORWICH — CorePlus Federal Credit Union announces two upcoming Shred Days in the Eastern Connecticut area. These free events are held in partnership with Infoshred as a way to protect individuals from identity theft, a growing concern. People may bring personal documents, financial records, credit card statements, insurance forms, canceled checks, bank statements and tax preparation worksheets to be shredded. Shred Day will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 10 at the Brooklyn Walmart Supercenter on Providence Road and from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 24 at the Norwich Branch on Salem Turnpike. These events are free and open to the public.

Appeals
Pursuant to Section 12-110 of the Connecticut Statutes, any person claiming to be aggrieved by the doings of the assessor for motor vehicles on the Grand List of 2015 may appeal therefrom to the Board of Assessment Appeals. Such appeal shall be made in person along with the vehicle to the Board on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the Pomfret Town Hall, 5 Haven Road, Pomfret, CT.
