PUTNAM — The 32nd annual Day Kimball Hospital Golf Classic has raised more than $80,000, the net proceeds of which will support services and upgrades to facilities and technology at Day Kimball Hospital, a nonprofit community hospital serving northeastern Connecticut since 1894. The tournament was held on Monday, July 11 and was attended by more than 300 volunteers and golfers who played simultaneously at Connecticut National Golf Club in Putnam and Quinnatisset Country Club in Thompson.
“It was wonderful to see so many across our community come together to support this important cause, from our sponsors, to those who participated in the tournament, to the dozens of volunteers and committee members who gave so generously of their time and effort,” said DKH Director of Development Kristen Willis.
“Day Kimball Hospital is our nonprofit community hospital and as such it’s so important to have the community’s support. Funds from this tournament are critical to allowing our staff and medical community to continue achieving the growth in services and high marks for quality that we’ve enjoyed in recent years and for that we are so thankful,” Willis said.
Major sponsors for the event were CNB | a division of BankESB as the Platinum sponsor; Putnam Bank and Wheelabrator Technologies as Gold Sponsors; and Silver Sponsors, B&M Excavating Company, Claflin Company, Downes Construction Company, Houston Harbaugh, PC, O’Brien, Tanski & Young, LLP and Reid & Riege, PC.
