MEETING
JUNE 6, 2016
The Electors and Citizens qualified to vote in the Continued Annual Town Meeting of the Town of Putnam, Connecticut, are hereby notified and warned that a Town Meeting of said Town will be held in the Putnam Elementary School Library at 33 Wicker Street (Israel Putnam Way), Putnam, Connecticut, on the 6th day of June, 2016 at 7:30 o’clock in the evening for the following purposes:
1. To choose a moderator for said meeting.
2. To consider and act upon the recommendations of the Board of Finance that appropriation for General Government (including Bonded Indebtedness) in the amount of $5,328,478.00 and the Library in the amount of $543,236.00 for a total of $5,871,714.00 be made for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2016, and ending June 30, 2017, and to make such appropriations as are advisable.
3. To consider an act upon the recommendation of the Board of Finance that a capital appropriation in the amount of $220,000.00 be made for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2016, and ending June 30, 2017, and to make such appropriations as are advisable. The $220,000.00 shall consist of:
a) $185,000.00 for a Dump Truck for the Public Works Department b) $35,000.00 for a Pickup Truck for the Recreation Department
4. To authorize the Town Treasurer and Board of Finance to finance internally by borrowing from the Ash Landfill account certain capital items, said borrowing or interagency loan not to exceed $220,000.00 for the term of not more than five (5) years at an interest rate of at least one (1%) percent, this loan is to be amortized at least annually. The Board of Finance is authorized to approve the particulars of said loan and the precise rate subject to the foregoing parameters.
