Spreading
holiday cheer
for kids
PUTNAM — For the 18th year, Putnam Ford staff and President Rick Place helped to spread holiday cheer to local families at their annual “Christmas is for Kids” party, hosted at the dealership recently.
The party was attended by more than 50 children and adults from United Services’ human service programs, including the Domestic Violence Program, Center for Autism, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren group, and other family oriented programs.
“Putnam Ford and its employees are really proud and excited to put on a little Christmas show to the kids of the programs of United Services,” said Putnam Ford President Rick Place. “This is very self-gratifying to help those less fortunate than ourselves especially at Christmas time. We look forward to this event every year and this being our 18th consecutive year, we are very grateful for the opportunity.”
“Putnam Ford’s generosity and concern for others in our community is what the holiday spirit is all about, and that kind of support is so vital to our efforts, not just during the holidays but all year long,” said John Goodman, director of development and communications at United Services.
The following charges were listed in the Putnam Police Department logs. The people charged are innocent until proven guilty in court. The Town Crier will publish dispositions of cases at the request of the accused. The dispositions must be accompanied by the proper documentation. The Putnam Police Department confidential Tip Line is 963-0000.

The 16 students from the school’s basketball team sang a medley of Christmas carols, led by their choral directors from the school. Coordinated by Westview’s Recreation Department, the carolers sang numerous Christmas songs including: Deck the Halls, Silent Night, Feliz Navidad and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer before enjoying refreshments provided by Westview’s Dietary Department.
4-H Santa
Summer Getchell and her mom Filesha were among the many families that came to have their photo taken with Santa at the Windham County Outdoor 4-H Center recently. All money raised from this event went to the Jim Logee Campership Fund to make camp more affordable for many participants next summer.
