Pedestrian injured
PUTNAM — Nov. 3 a North Grosvenordale resident was injured when she was hit by a car in the Riverfront Commons Shopping Center on Kennedy Drive.
Putnam Police said a 2003 Lexus RX300 driven by Elliot Sloan, 59, of Dudley, was northbound in the parking lot and struck Victoria Cleveland, 40, of N. Grosvenordale. She had stepped off the sidewalk in front of Subway and was crossing the travel lane towards her parked vehicle.
Putnam EMS took her to Day Kimball Hospital for her injuries. A child walking with Cleveland was not injured in the incident.
This case remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Sgt. Sezenias of the Putnam Police Department at 860-928-6565.

WILLIMANTIC — Home-grown terrorism, the effects of a consumerist culture, and the alienation and objectification of individuals were only a few of the themes portrayed in Eastern Connecticut State University’s recent production of the award-winning contemporary play, “Pornography” by Simon Stephens. Three local students performed: Derek Bleau ’16 of Quinebaug, Ty Collige ’16 of Woodstock Valley, and Ali Jack Kayan ’18 of Putnam.

WILLIMANTIC — The Institute of Sustainable Energy (ISE) promotes energy efficiency and sustainability. The ISE’s main goal is to promote the use of less energy while providing performance through technologies that promote sustainable energy. The ISE educates individuals through education, research and technology support. Ashley Houle ’15 of Danielson is currently working as an ISE intern for the 2015-16 academic year. Houle’s major is Environmental Earth Science.

Drug arrest
KILLINGLY — A Killingly man was arrested on drug charges Nov. 3 after an investigation by troopers assigned to the Troop D Quality of Life Task Force, troopers from Troop D and the Killingly Resident Troopers Office as well as the Statewide Narcotics Task Force East Office.
Francisco “Cisco” Fraustro, 39, of 10B Prospect Ave., was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
The Troop D Quality of Life Task Force’s investigation was prompted after numerous concerned citizens and business owners expressed concern over the increased narcotic dealing in the downtown Danielson area particularly on the street corners and bars.
Troopers located Fraustro walking on Commerce Avenue near Sunnyside Farms and seized heroin pre-packaged for sale and a large sum of cash.
