Energy conservation donations
JEWETT CITY — Jewett City Savings Bank announced that four donations totaling $100,000 were made to local nonprofit organizations in support of their energy conservation projects including: United Services, Inc. received $50,000 to support solar energy upgrades for the Dayville clinic; The Eliza Huntington Memorial Home of Norwich, Inc. received $20,000 towards the installation of new energy saving windows; St. Vincent de Paul Place Norwich, Inc. received $20,000 to assist with an HVAC installation as part of their energy efficiency project; and Stonington Community Center, Inc. received $10,000 to support energy conservation efforts.
$6,500 raised
POMFRET — The Windham-County 4-H Camp’s first ever Sno-Ball Family Dinner Dance raised more than $6,500 for the Jim Logee Campership Fund. 120 guests were served by the camp cook, We-Lik-It Ice Cream Sundae Bar and danced to tunes spun by JD Kyle Sirois. Sponsors included: Antero Urgent Care, Attorney Don Beebe, Buck’s Soft Serve, Creamery Brook Village, Danielson Surplus Sales, French River Materials, Johnson’s Auto Body Inc., Landon Tire, Mackey’s Inc, Drs. Walter and Carolyn MCGinn, Olender’s of Columbia, The Sunshine Shop, Sysco, Daryn Tannenbaum, LCSW, Ted’s IGA Supermarket, Woodstock Creamery, and Zlotnick Construction Company.

Bellavance named DKH Employee of the Month for December
PUTNAM — Day Kimball Health (DKH) named Paula Bellavance, case manager associate in the Case Management Department, as its December Employee of the Month.
Bellavance joined DKH in May 2008 as a secretary in Behavioral Health Services before transitioning to Day Kimball Health at Home. In June 2024, she moved into her current role in the Case Management Department.
Kyle Kramer, CEO of Day Kimball Health, said: “Paula is a tremendous asset to Day Kimball and our community. Her efforts in coordinating transportation, navigating insurance processes, and facilitating seamless transitions for our patients are truly invaluable. Paula is a joy to work with, and her positive attitude and collaborative spirit make a difference every day. We are incredibly proud to recognize her as Employee of the Month.”

Jewett City Savings Bank promotes six
JEWETT CITY — Michael Alberts, president and CEO of Jewett City Savings Bank, has announced the promotions of Peter Cannon, Jane Watson, John Couillard, Monique Mailloux, Matthew Voelker, and Brett Lovett.
Peter Cannon, senior vice president, has been promoted to chief compliance officer. Cannon joined the bank in 2011 and has 17 years of experience as a bank compliance officer. He holds a Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law and a bachelor’s from the University of Rhode Island. Cannon is also a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
Jane Watson, assistant controller, has been promoted to vice president. Watson joined the bank in 1991; she holds an associate’s degree in office administration and information processing from QVCC. Watson is also a graduate of the Connecticut Bankers Association School of Finance & Management.
John Couillard has been promoted to assistant vice president, commercial loan officer. Couillard joined the bank in 2020 and has more than 20 years of experience in the commercial banking industry. He holds a bachelor’s in business management from Bryant University and an associate’s in business management from Mitchell College. Couillard is also a graduate of the Center for Financial Training, Commercial Lending School.
Monique Mailloux has been promoted to assistant vice president, commercial credit analyst. Mailloux joined the bank in 2021 and has held various positions of increasing responsibility. She is a graduate of the Center for Financial Training and holds various certificates in financial services, lending, accounting, and supervision.
Matthew Voelker has been promoted to assistant vice president, Business Loan Officer. Joining the bank in 2022 as a senior credit analyst, he holds a degree in business administration and a minor in business information systems from ECSU.
Brett Lovett, branch manager of the bank’s Putnam office, has been promoted to assistant vice president. Lovett joined the bank’s team in 2023 and has 11 years of experience in the banking industry. Currently attending the Connecticut Bankers Association School of Finance & Management; he is expected to graduate this spring.

Renowned folk singer appearing in Pomfret March 28
POMFRET — Canadian roots and folk musician, James Keelaghan, will perform at 7 p.m. March 28 at The Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Pomfret on Day Road. David Woodhead will accompany him on bass. Tickets are $25 and registration is required: 860-928-4948. Admission at the door will be $30, only if seating remains available.
Sarah Heminway, the northeast region director for The Connecticut Audubon Society, said, “We are excited to have such an accomplished artist spend an evening with us in the Quiet Corner. Kick off your weekend with dinner out followed by music with James Keelaghan in our intimate venue.”

He combines an insatiable appetite for finding the next unique storyline with brilliantly defined craftsmanship and a monogrammed artistic vision.
