Woodstock Academy Athletic Hall of Fame grows by 4 individuals, 3 teams

It was Alumni Weekend for Woodstock Academy and, as has been tradition since 2012 with a brief break from 2019-2022, several former student-athletes at the school were inducted into the Woodstock Academy Athletic Hall of Fame.
Kyle MacQueen Feldman, Kevin Graham, Bryan Lowry, Patricia Morgan, the 2012 and 2014 Woodstock Academy gymnastic teams and the 1925 basketball team were all honored. 
Shaila Segal Chandler, who was inducted in 2023 but could not make the ceremony, was also on hand and was recognized for her achievements.
Class of 2003: Kyle MacQueen Feldman
Kyle MacQueen Feldman played soccer in the fall and then headed for the track where she competed in both the indoor and outdoor seasons and it’s where she earned her notoriety.
During her time at Woodstock, MacQueen Feldman earned multiple All-Conference, All-State, and All-New England honors.
She set school records in both the 600-meter and 800-meter races, records that still stand today.
Her achievements were recognized with both the Most Outstanding Female Athlete award and the prestigious U.S. Marines Most Distinguished Athlete award.
MacQueen Feldman’s athletic career continued as she ran collegiately at UConn and later joined the Greater Boston Track Club, dominating distances ranging from the mile to the marathon.
Her accomplishments include multiple USATF-New England championships, club records, and eight marathon finishes, including a personal best of 2 hours, 49 minutes at the Chicago Marathon, just minutes shy of the Olympic Trials standard.
Class of 2005: Kevin Graham
Kevin Graham was a cross-country and both indoor and outdoor track standout.
He was the 2004 Class MM State Champion, an All-New England runner, and a key member of the cross-country team that finished as state runners-up in both 2003 and 2004.
His top finishes included a 4 minute, 25 second performance at the 2004 New England Championships, a time that still ranks second in school history.
He put together a 9:53 performance in the two-mile in 2004 which remains a Woodstock Academy record.
In cross-country, Graham ran the 5K in 16:14 in 2004, the second-fastest time in program history. 
Class of 2006: Bryan Lowry:
Bryan Lowry was not a specialist, but rather an outstanding all-around athlete for Woodstock Academy.
He competed in the fall in soccer, basketball in the winter and switched between baseball and tennis in the spring.
He was best known for his exploits on the basketball court where he scored more than 900 points in his career.
Patricia Morgan, Benefactor
Patricia Morgan was recognized for her contributions to Woodstock Academy athletics where she has been the leading benefactor.
It was through her support and that of the Beagary Charitable Trust that Woodstock Academy was able to establish its hockey program, creating and then growing a new avenue for students to compete, and excel.
2012 and 2014 Woodstock Academy gymnastics teams
In 2012, the Centaurs swept every major title available to them, winning the ECC Conference championship, the State Class M title, the State Open, and, in the crowning achievement, the New England Championship. It was the first New England title in school history, and it forever established Woodstock gymnastics as a program to be reckoned with.
Alongside the team’s historic performance, individual excellence also shined, as Shaila Segal Chandler and Jackie Deary captured New England titles of their own.
Just two years later, the 2014 team raised the bar even higher.
The Centaurs reclaimed the New England crown with a team score of 151.15, a mark that not only set the Woodstock Academy record but also stands as the second-highest team score in New England gymnastics history.
On that same stage, Courtney Osborn earned the prestigious New England All-Around individual title.
1925 Basketball team
With only 68 students enrolled, Richard Johnson, Gerald Phaneuf, Lester Gallop, Vernon Wetherell and Henry Safford formed a team that went on to win the State High School “Y” Championship. They accomplished this feat without the guidance of a coach, playing their home games in the Academy Hall on the second floor of the Academy building.

Rita M. (LaRoche) LeFevre
DANIELSON — Rita M. (LaRoche) LeFevre, 78, wife of the late Theodore “Ted” LeFevre, died Sept. 29, 2025, at Backus Hospital in Norwich.
Rita was born on July 2, 1947, the daughter of the late Pierre and Rosilda (Tellier) LaRoche. She was a 1967 graduate of Killingly High School and was the secretary of the Killingly High School Alumni Association. Rita worked for many years in the manufacturing industry, having worked at Gant Shirtmakers, Acme Cotton, Danielson Curtain, and Lerocato Manufacturing. She had also worked at the Putnam Walmart and the Friendly Bowling Alley. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, and NASCAR. Amongst her many hobbies, Rita enjoyed sewing and crafting.
She leaves her niece, Dawn (Rivers) Pacheco, and her husband, Sergio of North Oxford, Mass.; her brother, Cephas Robbins (Dale) of Danielson; and by her close friend, Hellen Alderich of Danielson. She was predeceased by her father, Pierre, in 1975, her mother, Rosilda, in 1982, her husband, Ted, in 2004, her daughter, Lori Davis, in 2006, and her sister, Annis Rivers, in 2007.
A Celebration of Life is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 8 in the Gilman-Valade Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Church St., Putnam. A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, Putnam. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. Fine Arts & Crafts Festival set
WOODSTOCK — Roseland Cottage holds its 43rd annual Fine Arts and Crafts Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 18 and Oct. 19.
Admission for adults is $5. Historic New England members and children under 12 are free. Parking is free. The event is held rain or shine. Info: 860-928-4074 or 617-994-5924.
The festival is one of the leading juried fine arts and crafts shows in New England, showcasing more than 150 artisans and their wares. Craft lovers are invited to view handcrafted jewelry, glass, photography, pottery, paintings, clothing, metalwork, and much more.
First floor tours of Roseland Cottage will be available. On Sunday, bouquets from Roseland Cottage’s historic garden will be given away. In addition to our historic parterre garden, guests are invited to visit our new native species pollinator garden, where master gardeners will be on hand to answer your questions.
Daily activities also include live music, children’s activities, and food concessions.
