Candidates selected
WOODSTOCK — The Woodstock Democratic Town Committee recently announced its slate of candidates for town offices in the Nov. 2 election.
The main candidates
As first selectman, the WDTC has chosen Charlene Perkins Cutler. She has worked with The Last Green Valley Inc. She has experience with municipal governments, and regional, state and federal partnerships.
Greg Kline is running for re-election to Board of Selectmen. He is a veteran and member of the Woodstock Volunteer FD. He helped found the Danielson Veterans Coffeehouse and has professional communication skills.
For treasurer, long-time Woodstock resident Rebecca Hyde was selected. She is a certified public accountant

Donald E. Steinbrick,
Vietnam era vet
PUTNAM — Donald E. Steinbrick, 82, of Providence Pike, died July 20, 2021, at UMass Memorial University Hospital. He was the husband of the late Patricia Ann (Taylor) Steinbrick for 58 years.
Born in 1939 in Putnam, he was the son of the late Oscar and Jeannette (Neal) Steinbrick. Mr. Steinbrick was united in marriage to the former Patricia Ann Taylor on Nov. 4, 1961. Patricia died April 27, 2020.
He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam era serving with the U.S. Air Force, 551st Air Police Squadron, being honorably discharged at Otis Air Force Base on Aug. 5, 1962.
Mr. Steinbrick began his working career at American Standard after which he sold cars at Mathieu Ford. He then went to work at Knox Glass starting as a welder and later becoming a mold maker for 10 years, and then he went to Star City Glass, Amfram Packing and Foster Forbes Glass. Donald then became a postal worker, working in both the Putnam and Quinebaug post offices.
Don was a member of the American Legion Post 13 in Putnam and the Putnam Lodge of Elks 574. He enjoyed the outdoors, both hunting and fishing. His love for Putnam was seen through his work with people on projects such as the skatepark, Beirut memorial, and the Daughters of the Revolution statue.
He leaves two sons, David Steinbrick (Laurie) of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and Christopher Steinbrick of Putnam; four grandchildren, Nicole Steinbrick of New London, Alexa and Oscar Steinbrick, both of Putnam, and David Steinbrick Jr. of Cape Elizabeth; two nieces, Sherri France and her son Jake of Shelton and Wendy Stacey and her children Olivia Stacey and Jordan Stacey of Hamden. He was predeceased by his infant grandson, John Alexander Steinbrick and his brother, Charles Steinbrick.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 6 in Gilman Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Church St., Putnam. A graveside service with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 7 in Grove Street Cemetery. Donations: Danielson Veterans Coffeehouse, Attn.: Charlie Milewski, P.O. Box 3, Danielson, CT 06239.
Anita J. Richardson
DANIELSON — Anita (Chausse) Richardson, 85, formerly of Stone St., died July 24, 2021, at Davis Place Nursing Home. Born in 1936 in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Blanche (Fortin) Chausse. Mrs. Richardson worked as a sewer for Cluett Peabody, and then Putnam Manufacturing. Anita was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, and crocheting, and was a huge fan of word search and jigsaw puzzles.
She leaves her sister, Rachel Chausse of Middletown; her daughter, Jackie Hoenig of Thompson, her son, Ken LaPorte of Dayville, her daughter, Karen Keith of Elizabethtown, Ky., and her daughter, Cathy Boulais (Jim) of S. Windsor; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also fondly remembered by Leonardo Ingles who considered her as grandma #2. She was predeceased by her brother, Alfred Chausse, her first husband, Lionel LaPorte (died on Jan. 1, 1994), and her oldest son, Michael LaPorte (Nov. 14, 2016).
The Graveside Service is at 11 a.m. July 30 in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. Gilman Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Church St., Putnam.
