WOODSTOCK --- Sept. 3 through 6 the Woodstock Agricultural Society, Inc. will celebrate the 150th anniversary of its annual Woodstock Fair.  Behind the scenes, volunteers have been working for over a year to prepare for this momentous occasion. 
This year’s 150th Anniversary Celebration will include Opening Night Fireworks, a Labor Day Parade, a commemorative History of the Woodstock Fair, a cookbook, a Civil War encampment, performances by bands from the '50s, '60s, '70s, '80s and '90s, a new East Stage Entertainment Area, special contests, giveaways, daily drawings, and as always, animal and agricultural exhibits, food and attractions.  
Over 30 entertainers will perform on three  entertainment stages including Blue Oyster Cult, The Grass Roots, The Original Stars of American Bandstand (featuring Fabian, The Chiffons, Danny & The Juniors, Bobby Vee, Chris Montez and Brian Hyland), Dennis DeYoung: The Music of STYX, a rare reunion by Boston '60s band The Remains, Barry & Holly Tashian (country bluegrass), Jim Spinnato (hypnotist comedian), Lucky Bob (prop comic) and family entertainment for all ages.
The 150th edition of one of the largest agriculturally based country fairs in New England will introduce a new advance sale individual ticket at a $2 discount off the regular gate admission price.  The Fair will continue to offer the popular Advance Sale 4-Pack at a $12 discount.  The $8 Senior Citizen (65+) discount ticket policy has been expanded from 2 days to all 4 days of the Fair.  Also new in 2010, Express Lanes at all Fair entrances for advance sale ticketholders and Life Members.
The Woodstock Agricultural Society, Inc., organized in 1858, sponsors the annual Woodstock Fair, Always  Labor Day Weekend.  The Woodstock Agricultural Society, Inc. supports additional events throughout the year including Celebrating Agriculture, the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the annual NEPS Summer Celebration, and donates the fairgrounds to the Woodstock Academy for their athletic programs.  Annually, the Society funds over 10 academic scholarships for local high school seniors furthering their education.
