Senior Dance

Dairy Exhibit
WOODSTOCK --- "Farmers, Cows and the Land," an exhibition about the modern history of dairy farming in Connecticut, is on display at the Roseland Cottage carriage barn through Oct. 15, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. Free.
Fun Run

Art Exhibit
POMFRET --- The Northeastern Connecticut Art Guild will present an exhibit of members artworks at the Audubon Society on Rt. 169 through Sept. 30. Reception is 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 29. All welcome. This exhibit, "All Things Beautiful," is dedicated to the memory of Jane Lazendorfer. She was a gifted artist, a lover of birds and wildlife, and a committed member of our art guild.
Puppetry Exhibit
STORRS --- The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry will present two exhibits, "Punch and Judy: Handpuppets, Politics and Humor," and "Frank and Elizabeth Haines: An American Puppet Theater in the 1930s," through Dec. 19 at the UConn campus. www.bimp.uconn.edu.
Spaghetti Dinner

WOODSTOCK --- The Woodstock Seniors will hold the following on the lower level of the Town Hall this week: Arts and crafts, 9:30 to 11 a.m. Aug. 25; dominoes, 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 25. Exercises cancelled for months of July and August.

WOODSTOCK --- The Woodstock branch of The Citizens National Bank will be celebrating National Dog Day today. All dog food and donations will benefit NECCOG (Northeast Regional Animal Control) which serves several towns including Woodstock.

Peace
PUTNAM --- The Greater Putnam Interfaith Council invites you to join with us in our reflection on Peace in recognition of the United Nations’ International Peace Day from 1 to 3 p.m. at Rotary Park. The event will feature a procession of friends carrying the Greater Putnam Peace Pole from the Methodist Church of Putnam to Rotary Park, as well as prayers, meditation and great music at the park. Children will be invited to create peace-based art projects to donate to our community and information booths will be available. As a united act of peace, everyone is invited to bring canned or boxed goods to donate to Daily Bread. Organizers are currently looking for community members and groups that may want to share their talents or set-up an informational booth or have any ideas or suggestions. 928-4569.
