Richard A. Perrin,
owned business
CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Richard A. Perrin, 81, of Cape Coral, died on April 27, 2011. He was the husband of Claire Perrin.
He was born June 25, 1929, son of Frank A. Perrin and Unabelle Perrin.
Richard, known as “Dick Perrin” to all his friends and family, owned and operated Cargill Chevrolet from 1950 to 1980. He belonged to the Sports Car Club of America, racing Jaguars and Corvettes from 1951 - 1957, ending in the winners circle numerous times. He was a member of the American Quarterhorse Association. He was also a member of the Family Motor Coach Association and traveled the U.S. on summer vacations.
In addition to his wife, Claire, he leaves two sons, Frank Perrin of Putnam and Mark Perrin of Ft. Myers, Fla.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He will be laid to rest at Sarasota Veterans Cemetery, Sarasota, Fla.
Constance Wetherell
Peshmalyan
S. WOODSTOCK — Constance Wetherell Peshmalyan of S. Woodstock died May 7, 2011, at Matulaitis Nursing Home.
Born July 19, 1911, in Woodstock, she was the daughter of George and Flora (Steere) Wetherell. She was a graduate of the Bouve-Boston School in Boston and Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., with degrees in physical education. Connie served as an instructor of physical education on the faculties of Rollins College, the University of Vermont in Burlington, the Walnut Hill School in Natick, Mass., and Annhurst College in Woodstock. As a member of the American Red Cross during World War II she was stationed in Wales and Germany. It was during that time that she met Major Baruyr Peshmalyan of Chicago whom she married in Nuremberg, Germany, in 1945. Baruyr died in 1979.
Connie lived most of her life in Woodstock where she was an active member of the community, contributing to a number of boards, commissions, and associations including the Woodstock Academy Board of Trustees, the Woodstock Historical Society, and Roseland Cottage. For many years she operated the Wetherell Realty Company in Woodstock with her brother, Vernon Wetherell, and later with her nephew, Peter Wetherell.
She had been a longtime member of the E. Woodstock Congregational Church.
She leaves her nephews and nieces, Peter T. Wetherell of Woodstock, Jane (Wetherell) St.Onge of Putnam, Presley H. Wetherell Jr. of Sarasota, Fla., Holly (Wetherell) Poh of Woodstock, Brian B. Wetherell of Atlanta, and George Wetherell of Woodstock; grand nieces and nephews. Connie was predeceased by her brothers Vernon T. Wetherell, Franklin S. Wetherell, George A. Wetherell, and Presley H. Wetherell.

Gertrude (Charron)
Blanchette
PUTNAM — Gertrude (Charron) Blanchette, 92, formally of Van den Noort Street, died May 9, 2011, in UMass Memorial Healthcare. She was the wife of the late Gerard J. Blanchette.
Born in 1919 in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Noelia (Girouard) Charron.
Mrs. Blanchette worked as a winder and inspector for Belding Heminway in Putnam until her retirement in 1981.
Mrs. Blanchette was a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation, and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne of N. Grosvenordale, and the Putnam Senior Center.
She leaves her brother Richard Charron Sr. of Quinebaug; nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lillian Sinehak, Doris Cunha and Irene Pepin.

Elizabeth A. Vileno,

HAMPTON — Elizabeth A. (Musk) Vileno, 72, of Hampton, died May 13, 2011, at home. Betty recently celebrated their golden anniversary with her husband, John T. Vileno.
Born Jan. 8, 1939, in Providence, she was the only child of the late Francis Musk and Elizabeth A. (Baker) Musk Fleming. After her graduation from Mt. Pleasant High School, she received her L.P.N. degree from the former Our Lady of Fatima School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse and then in home health supplies most of her career until she retired in the mid-1990s. She had a sharp wit and enjoyed travel, entertaining, and playing cards and games with her family. Her sewing creations were beautiful.
Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters, Cynthia Vileno (Jonathan) Meigs, Elizabeth Vileno and Steven Rowe, all of Corning, N.Y., Deborah Esborn (John) of E. Sandwich, Mass., and Rebecca Mott (Ian) of Sutton, Mass.; six grandchildren: Michael Solano of Corning, Elizabeth, Andrew and Garrett Esborn of E. Sandwich, Annabel and Charlotte, at home; and extended family.

Rosemary Parquette,

BROOKLYN --- Rosemary Tubini Parquette died April 24, 2011. She was born Feb. 23, 1920, in Istanbul, Turkey.
She met her husband William S (“Bill”) Parquette while employed at Robert College in Istanbul where William was an English teacher. They were married in 1941. They traveled extensively and settled in Manila, Philippines, where they were captured and interned by Japanese forces during WWII. After over three years of imprisonment, they were liberated by American forces and returned to the U.S. Rosemary followed Bill’s teaching career with positions in Gloucester, Mass., Millbrook, N.Y., and St. Louis, before accepting a position in 1952 at Pomfret School in Pomfret. They lived at the Pomfret School campus until Bill’s retirement in 1980. During this time, Rosemary was a piano teacher and church organist at Christ Church in Pomfret. Her lifelong love of music was shared with her many friends and family. Rosemary was an avid swimmer and was fluent in Turkish, German, and French.
She leaves three children, Linda J. Parquette of Woodstock, William E. Parquette (Carol) of Pomfret and Lawrence S. Parquette (Christine) of Putnam; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Bill on Sept. 15, 2002, and great-grandson Wesley Albert Parquette on July 20, 2010. The funeral was private.

DAYVILLE — Pauline M. Nichols, 92, of Otis Street, died May 12, 2011, at Regency Heights in Danielson. She was the wife of George A. Nichols Sr. who died Sept. 12, 1976. They were married July 3, 1937, in St. James Church, Danielson, by Rev. Leo Martel.
She was born Oct. 13, 1918, in E. Brooklyn, daughter of the late Eugene and Roseanna (Renaud) DeVillez. Pauline worked at William Prym for 38 years, retiring June 29, 1984. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, Dayville.
She leaves three sons: George A. Nichols Jr. of Pike, N.H., Eugene Nichols of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Ernest Nichols of Brooklyn; seven sisters: Dora Petecki, Mary Dickson, Florina Weaver, Theresa Davis, Lorraine Collins, Nancy Bernier, Claire Sabourin; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings Leon DeVillez, Eugene DeVillez, Theodore DeVillez, Ida Blair, Alice LaFontaine and a grandson Christopher Nichols.

ABINGTON — Sela C. Green, 98, of Abington, died May 8, 2011, at home. She was the wife of the late Albert “Red” Floyd Green. He died in 1995.
She was born July 16, 191,2 in W. Ashford, daughter of Eugene and Dora McDaniels. She was a life member of the Wolf Den Grange and the Abington Guild and the Abington Congregational Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed working in her gardens and caring for animals.
She leaves two daughters, Janice Smith (Ronald) of Pittsfield, Mass. and Sandra Molnar (John) of Guilford; grandchildren: Steven Smith (Regina) of Pittsfield, Jeffrey Smith (Laura) of Cambridge, Mass., Matthew Green Molnar (Tracie) of Uncasville, Daniel Green Molnar of N. Branford, Jonathan Green Molnar (Karina) of N. Branford and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Norma Louise Green in 1937.

DAYVILLE — Diane M. Lewis, 55, of Huntley Road, died May 14, 2011, at home. She was the wife of Francis Lewis. They were married Dec. 31, 1987, in Whipple’s Chapel.
She was born Oct. 3, 1955, in Putnam, daughter of Loretta (Lawton) Raymond of Dayville and the late Vincent Raymond. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, swimming, was an avid reader and scrapbooker.
She leaves her husband Francis and her mother Loretta; children, Christopher Lewis of Webster, Joshua Lewis of Woodstock, Tanya Bradford (Clyde) of Chesapeake, Va., Frances Ramharak (Michael) of Waterville, Maine; sisters, Charlotte Aldrich of Putnam, Karen Beaulieu of Dayville; four grandchildren.

Pauline M. Goulet

PUTNAM — Pauline M. Goulet, 86, wife of the late Joseph A. Goulet, died Jan. 31, 2011. She was a resident at Westview Health Care Center.
Pauline was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Putnam, daughter of Armand and Marie (Girard) Chapdelaine. She graduated from Putnam High School in 1944. Pauline was a life long resident of Putnam and dedicated her life raising her two sons. She married Joseph Goulet her high school sweetheart, on July 8, 1944. Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego Calif. After the war, Joe and Pauline resumed their lives in Putnam. In the early 1950s, Pauline assisted Anita Young at the Putnam Nursery School on Grove Street. The early to middle years of her married life were spent raising her two boys and working with her husband in the office doing billing and bookkeeping for their business Goulet’s Express. During this period, Pauline also stayed involved with Putnam’s youth by teaching CYO classes at St. Mary’s Church. When she was in her early 50s, obtained her brokerage license and worked in real estate.
She leaves two sons; Greg of Nashua, N.H., and Wayne of Melbourne, Fla.; three grandchildren; Todd of Cambridge, Mass.,, Tracy Aubin of Vernon, and Tim of Las Vegas and two great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial was May 14, in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, with burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam.

N. GROSVENORDALE — Joyce Helene Moody, 80, of N. Grosvenordale, died May 13, 2011, at home, after a brief illness. She joins her late husband, Robert Moody and granddaughter Elizabeth Hart.
She leaves her children Taffy Hart of Bristol, Roger Hart Jr. of Putnam, Lori Syriac of Swannanoa, N.C., and Patty Trudeau of N. Grosvenordale; 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Born June 23, 1930, in Turn of the River, Joyce was the daughter of a carpenter and the only girl among five siblings. Joyce dedicated much of her free time to The United Methodist Church of Putnam. Her skill and dexterity allowed her to excel in her profession of Cake Decorating and her sewing passion, along with being an award-winning bowler. J

Leonard F. Corey,

WEARE, N.H. — Leonard F. Corey 70, was born March 31, 1941, in Putnam and died May 11, 2011, after a brief illness. He was a retired long-haul truck driver and was honorably discharged from the Navy. His interests included golfing, bowling, Nascar racing, boxing and many other sports.
He leaves his wife of 43 years, Florence M. Corey (Foster); sons: Wendell Corey (Debbie) of Moosup, Thomas Corey (Cindy) of Moosup, John Corey (Erica) of Voorhees, N.J.; daughter, Belinda Paskell (David) of Weare; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Leonard was predeceased by sons, Leonard Corey and Jack Corey.

Denyse Ruggeri,

DUDLEY — Denyse E. “Denny” (Puliafico) Ruggeri, 65, of Ramshorn Road, died May 8, 2011, in Overlook Masonic Health Care, Charlton, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born in Worcester and lived in Webster and Dudley all her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1963 and earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics from Elmira (N.Y.) College in 1967. She was awarded a masters degree in computer science from Lesley College in Cambridge.
Mrs. Ruggeri was a mathematics teacher at Bartlett High School in Webster from 1967 to 2005. She also taught physics for a short time. She was the head of the Math Department for 35 years. She founded and coached the Math Team. She also co-chaired the committee for the schools’ accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. In addition, she went to evaluate other schools for the Association. After she retired, she volunteered to teach math at St. Joseph Elementary School in Webster until last spring. She was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Along with her husband, she co-chaired the Bishop’s Fund Drive, now Partners in Charity, for 2 years. She sang soprano in the Bartlett High School Alumni Choir. She enjoyed exercising, yoga and baking with her granddaughters.
She leaves her husband of 43 years, Edward J. Ruggeri; a son, Mark J. Ruggeri (Leslee) of Woodstock; daughter, Heidi D. Ruggeri of Webster; two granddaughters, Mariangela J. and Mia G. Ruggeri; her mother, Jacqueline D. (Leboeuf) Puliafico of Webster; brother, Mark C. Puliafico (Kathleen) of E. Woodstock; her mother-in-law. She was predeceased by a daughter, Rebecca D. Ruggeri in 1979 and by her father, Charles R. Puliafico in 2008.
