PUTNAM --- Mike Bogdanski, a 40-plus veteran of martial arts training and teaching , and his business partner, Kristin Duethorn, wish to announce a change in name and a renewed focus and mission to their martial arts school.
Mike Bogdanski’s Martial Arts Center, now on Railroad Street, was founded more than 20 years ago. The school teaches traditional Tang Soo Do as its base style while incorporating other arts to create a well rounded curriculum of self defense, exercise, and personal growth. The program possesses value for students of all ages. Bogdanski, a seventh-degree black belt with a master's degree in school counseling and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, has trained Kristin Duethorn to the rank of fourth-degree black belt and Master Instructor.
Six years ago after moving from Main Street to Railroad Street in order to upgrade both Midtown Fitness and Mike Bogdanski’s Martial Arts Center, Bogdanski decided to add Duethorn to the business as a partner. Together they have looked for a new school name that reflects the vision of their teaching.
Quest Martial Arts will emphasize the importance of the journey of a black belt both on the mat as well as in our in the world. Individuals who achieve the rank of black belt will not only possesses physical skills, but will have acquired better self understanding through using lessons of courage, self-discipline, humility, and indomitable spirit as guides.
