PUTNAM — A dunking booth was all part of the fun at the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event on July 13. The Providence Street Carnival Block Party, sponsored by the businesses along the street, provided Chamber members and their guests with food, fun and networking opportunities.
Putnam Bank Chairman and CEO, Thomas A. Borner, accepted a challenge to enter the dunking booth in his business attire, as a fund-raiser for Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Connecticut, whose Re-store is at 171 Providence St. Borner’s impromptu fund-raiser generated approximately $486 in donations.
Borner, a long-standing supporter of Habitat, said he was “happy to take a plunge for such a worthy cause”.
Other Chamber members taking advantage of a cooling dunk were Peter Deary, owner of Sunnyside Farms; Judy Haines, owner of Friendly Spirits; Eric Gould of Savage Systems; attorneys Alyson Aleman and Jamie Davis of Borner, Aleman & Davis, LLC; Dick Loomis of Loomis Real Estate; Tom Archambault of Archambault Insurance; and John Miller of National Chromium.
