Ernest A. Beaulac,

ATTAWAUGAN — Ernest A. Beaulac, 82, of Church Street, Attawaugan, died July 11, 2011, at Harrington Hubbard Hospital in Webster.
He was the husband of the late Irene (Picard) Beaulac. She died in Feb. 4, 2007. He was born July 20, 1928, in Killingly, son of Leonides and Anna (Beauregard) Beaulac.
He retired from Pervel Industries in Plainfield after 28 years. He operated a chicken farm and grew vegetables for many years. He was known to many for his vegetable stand in Attawaugan. He was a former communicant of St Anne’s Church in Ballouville.
He leaves a son, Roger Beaulac (France) of Boston; two daughters, Donna Beaulac of Attawaugan and Linda Beaulac of Attawaugan with whom he made his home; two granddaughters: Marie Claude Beaulac and Veronique Beaulac. He was predeceased by his wife Anna, a daughter Denise G. Beaulac (she died Dec. 20, 2007)

Jean Deroko,

PUTNAM — Jean Deroko, 82, of Putnam died July 13, 2011, at Webster Manor in Webster.
She was the wife of the late George J. Deroko. He died in 1995.
Jean was born June 21, 1929, in Norwich, daughter of the late Albert and Beatrice Powel. She has made her home in the Putnam area since the 1950s. She worked as an office clerk at Cargill Chevrolet in Putnam for over 17 years.
She leaves her children: Kevin Deroko (Kathy) of Webster, Richard Deroko and Nancy Deroko. both of California; grandchildren: Elizabeth Ann, Sarah Elizabeth, Heather, Jonathan; great-grandchildren Brenna Elizabeth, Gabriel Kevin.
The Funeral was July 16 at Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Central Village. Donations: Alzheimer’s Association CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Hwy, Suite 100 Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
Irene A. Briere,

PUTNAM — Irene A. (Robitaille) Briere, 90, of Harrison Street, died July 16, 2011, in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the wife of Edward J. Briere Sr. for almost 68 years. Born in 1921 in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Napoleon and Anna (Latour) Robitaille.
Mrs. Briere worked for the former Belding Corticelli in Putnam and later worked for Danco Manufacturing before retiring in 1987. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church and always had a devotion to St Jude. She enjoyed knitting, circle-a-word puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed birds and yellow roses.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her daughter Marie B. Desautels (Paul) of Putnam, Edward J. Briere Jr. (Donna) of Putnam, Jane A. Briere of Putnam, and William J. Briere of Dayville; four grandchildren, John M. Labossiere Jr. and his fiancé Deb Rose of N. Grosvenordale, Lynne M. Labossiere of Putnam, Lauren E. Briere of Putnam and Todd Desautels of Savannah, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Marquis T. Shaw of Putnam, Dominique and Conner Desautels of Georgia; a god daughter, Dolores Wallick of Mystic; six nieces and nephews, Omer Briere of Danielson, Lucille Gauthier of Webster, MA, Richard Briere of Brooklyn, Theodore Messier of Putnam, Carol Rodriguez of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Robert Messier of Manchester, several great nieces and great nephews.
A gathering will begin at 10 a.m. July 20 at Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Mary Church of the Visitation, Putnam, with burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Henry Robidoux Jr.,
Navy veteran
DANIELSON — Henry A. Robidoux Jr., 65, of North Street Danielson, died suddenly July 13, 2011, at home. Husband of Jeannette (Lussier) Robidoux, they were married Oct. 11, 1969.
He was born Dec. 11, 1945, in Putnam, son of the late Henry A. and Angela (Despatie) Robidoux Sr. He joined the U.S. Navy on Oct. 13, 1964, and was honorably discharged March 24, 1969.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. He enjoyed his time at the Danielson Fire Department and served as a member for over 35 years. He loved to travel and enjoyed retirement.
He leaves his wife Jeannette; two daughters, Melissa O’Brien (Shane) of Plainfield, Dawn Harrington (Paul) of Plainfield; sister Bernice Baker of Danielson; three grandchildren, Logan, Connor and Ainsley.
A Mass of Christian Burial was July 16, at St. Joseph Church, Dayville, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery with military honors. William J. Atsales,
WWII vet
BROOKLYN — William J. Atsales died on July 7, 2011, at Regency Heights Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Windham, son of the late John and Antonia (Angelopoulous) Atsales. William Atsales was married for 65 years to his wife Diane (Sfikas) Atsales.
William Atsales was a volunteer for six years for the East Brooklyn Fire Department. He then served his country by joining the Army in WWII from Feb.16, 1943, to November 23, 1945.
He leaves one son, Christy Atsales of Danielson; one granddaughter, Shayna Atsales of Danielson; two nieces, Elizabeth Trimble of Danielson and Joanne Burke of San Francisco; three grandnieces, Athena Trimble of Cranston, R.I., Thea Trimble of Cromwell, and Rebecca Andersen of Glacier, Wash.; one grandnephew, Matthew Burke of Bellingham, Wash.
Graveside services with military honors will be held later. Tillinghast Funeral Home, Danielson.

‘Dot’ DeFilippo
PUTNAM — Dorothy “Dottie” Chenette DeFilippo, 82, of Oak Hill Drive, died July 13, 2011, at home. She married the late Anthony S. DeFilippo on Aug. 8, 1953, in St. Mary Church of the Visitation in Putnam.
Born Oct. 10, 1928, in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Carolyn (Montville) Chenette Maxham. She was also the stepdaughter of the late Eugene “Gene” Maxham.
Mrs. DeFilippo worked as a clerk for Jette Appliance Company as well as the Putnam Town Hall. She was a devout Catholic and a communicant of St. Mary Church. She volunteered for the American Red Cross and in her early years, she and her husband Tony were very involved with the C.Y.O.
Dot enjoyed reading and especially playing golf with her “golf buddies”. She also enjoyed driving with Sister Rita to visit the sick and give communion.
She leaves her cousin, Richard Lamothe of Putnam; her adopted family, Lynn (Greg) Ravenelle of Pomfret, and their children Matthew and Marc Ravenelle; godchild, Meghan Ravenelle; sister in-laws, Ann Bembenek, Doralta “Dora” Titchen, Philomena “Fannie” King, Evelyn DeFilippo; godson: Lionel A. Richard Jr.; her cat Katelyn. She was predeceased by her brother Norman Chenette and his wife Ethel.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dorothy’s family at 10 a.m. July 22, for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, Putnam. Lorraine Richard,

PUTNAM — Lorraine M. Richard, 82, formerly of Putnam, died July 15, 2011. She was the wife of the late Rene W. Richard.
She was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Putnam, daughter of the late Louis and Clara Provost. She was employed for 45 years at the American Optical Company, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed knitting and embroidery, an avid reader of mystery and enjoyed playing cards. Lorraine and Rene enjoyed traveling and square dancing. She was an active member of St. Mary Church in Putnam and the Daughters of Isabella.
She leaves her brother: Lucien Provost of Nevada; sisters: Aurore Demers of North Carolina, Jeanne Fisk of California, Claire Dion of Canterbury; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Romeo Provost, Laurent Provost and sisters Theresa Beaudoin, Lillian Berthiaume.
