DANIELSON --- The Federal Emergency Management Agency opened a Disaster Recovery Center at Quinebaug Valley Community College on Upper Maple Street.
The center is staffed with representatives who will assist individuals, households and businesses that suffered damage from Tropical Storm Irene and the subsequent flooding.
The hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.
Registering with FEMA is the first step to determining your qualifications for federal disaster assistance.
According to Federal Coordinating Officer, Steve DeBlasio, citizens are encouraged to apply first online or by phone at www.disasterassistance.gov or 1-800-621-3362.
