PUTNAM --- The Zonta Club of Quinebaug Valley is now accepting applications for the Harriet Z. Macht Scholarship which is awarded to a local woman currently enrolled in an education program preparing to return to the workforce.
Those interested in applying should submit an essay describing themselves, their circumstances and indicate specifically what the monetary award of $300 would be used for.
The name and telephone number of the designated educational facility, as well as one personal reference, should be included.
Applications are due by Oct. 28 and must be sent to: Florence Parker, Zonta Club of Quinebaug Valley, 32 Perry Street, Putnam, CT 06260.
Zonta is an international organization of professionals working to advance the status of women.
