WOODSTOCK --- The Women's Fellowship of the First Congregational Church, UCC, of Woodstock, on Rt. 169, will hold a fall rummage and white elephant sale from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 30 and from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 1 at the church. Bake sale, too.

Race-Walk
POMFRET --- The 4th Annual Abolish Breast Cancer 5K Race/Walk will be held starting at 9 a.m. Registration is at 7:30 a.m. Officially endorsed by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The walk starts at 9:01 a.m. Registrations received by Sept. 19 is $15 for adults and $10 for youth 17 and under. After September 17 it will be $20 for adults. Registrations received by Sept. 19 get a T-shirt. Pledges for Dana-Farber are encouraged but not required. With $75 in pledges the registration fee will be waived. Dog Walk
PUTNAM ---  The Third Annual NEADS Dog Walk to support “Canines for Combat Veterans” will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at Rotary Park. The Putnam Lions also expect to have a number of pet education, animal rescue and other related groups in attendance and will be sharing the day’s activities with Putnam Family Day. A new feature this year, on display til Oct. 2, is “The Big Dog Show,” a group of large dog sculptures created by artist Dale Rogers, and presented by the Putnam Arts Council.  The Dog Walk is part of the larger Putnam Family Fun Day at the park. 928-4960.

Car Show
DUDLEY --- The Dudley Lions Club is holding its 17th annual Yesteryear Car Show at the Commerce Insurance Company parking lot on Rt. 16 in Webster. History Talk
PUTNAM --- The Aspinock Historical Society of Putnam will host a talk by Ed Perron, retired chief of the Putnam Police Department, on the history of the Putnam Police Department, at 2 p.m. at the town Hall, selectmen's chambers on the second floor. Animal Blessing
WOODSTOCK --- The First Congregational Church of Woodstock, UCC, on Rt. 169 will hold a blessing of all animals and celebration of those who care about them at 10 a.m. Each animal attending must be on a leash or in a carrying cage. Register in advance to let us know how many paws, scales, hooves and wings to plan for.

Rabies Clinic
DANIELSON --- Pet Pals Northeast, a local animal rescue organization, is holding a low cost rabies clinic from 2 to 3 p.m. at Quinebaug Valley Veterinary Hospital on Rt. 12 on the Danielson/Plainfield town line. $10 cash. All animals must be on a leash or in a secured carrier. If available, bring prior proof of rabies vaccination.  State law requires all dogs and cats to have a current rabies vaccination. Open House
WOODSTOCK --- The Putnam Lodge #46 Freemasons will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the lodge near the Woodstock Fair.
