PUTNAM --- James Martin, owner and executive chef at 85 Main Street, downtown, is a finalist in the Connecticut Restaurant Association's Chef of the Year contest
The annual Salute to Excellence Awards Dinner will be held Nov. 9 at the Mohegan sun Casino.
85 Main was established in 2005 and began the upscale restaurant movement in downtown Putnam.
The three Chef of the Year finalists were determined by a write-in vote and the winner will be selected by a committee of CRA organizers. The dinner will be attended by Connecticut’s culinary elite, but is also open to the general public.
The Connecticut Restaurant Association (CRA) has been a vital part of the state’s hospitality industry since 1973 in order to serve its members through educational and training programs as well as ongoing legislative efforts. Today, the CRA represents nearly 600 hospitality professionals in over 1,000 locations throughout the state and is seen as the true voice of hospitality in Connecticut.
