PUTNAM — For the second year in a row, Aetna insurance has designated Day Kimball Hospital a Choose and SaveSM hospital, based on specific criteria for clinical quality and efficient use of healthcare resources. For patients insured under Aetna health benefit plans that include the Choose and Save network feature, covered services at Day Kimball will be paid at the most preferred benefit level, meaning Aetna will pay a higher share of the cost.
“Day Kimball remains committed to expanding services and investing in technology to be the premier healthcare provider in northeast Connecticut, and at the same time we are very mindful about controlling costs to employers and patients,” said Robert E. Smanik, FACHE, Day Kimball Healthcare president and CEO.
“We recognize Day Kimball for its history of providing services at a more affordable cost to Aetna as compared to other participating hospitals in the market,” said Martha Temple, president, Aetna New England Market. “Aetna members with plans that include the Choose and Save network option will receive the highest benefit or maximum savings when receiving care from Day Kimball Hospital.”
