Hockey team battles to 3-3 tie
Last week the Woodstock Academy ice hockey team traveled up into Massachusetts to face off against Auburn High School, and finished with a tie, 3-3.
The teams battled hard in the first period; however, Auburn would open the scoring. With six minutes left in the first freshman Ben Thompson put the Centaurs on the board scoring his first of two goals on the night.
Auburn would go back on top when a shot from behind the net deflected past Woodstock goalie Baylee Johns.
The Centaurs would fight their way back to tie the game with Thompson netting his second goal. After Auburn went up 3-2 senior captain Seth Parker would wrist a shot past the Auburn goalkeeper tying the game at 3.
Despite Woodstock controlling most of the play during the game at the final buzzer the teams would finish with a 3-3 tie.
Woodstock next travels to Bolton for a 4 p.m. Feb. 2 game vs Rockville-Manchester.
