Invitation to Present
Proposals
The Town of Pomfret is accepting proposals from qualified Geotechnical Engineers and/or Hydrogeologists to conduct a well site assessment study of property located on Hartford Pike (Connecticut Route 101) owned by the Town of Pomfret and locally known as the Murdoch Property.
The Town of Pomfret wishes to assess the feasibility of installing one or more wells within the unconfined aquifer which will provide a significant quantity of water and meet drink water standards promulgated by the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
Proposals will be received by the Town of Pomfret at the Office of the First Selectman, Pomfret Town Hall, Five Haven Road, Pomfret Center, CT 06259 until 3:00 PM, Local Prevailing Time, on Thursday, March 1, 2012.  The Instructions to Bidders, Bid Requirements, and Specifications are available at the Pomfret Town Hall, Selectmen’s Office Five Haven Road, Pomfret Center, CT 06259.
There will be a site meeting for prospective consultants on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM.
No proposal may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening.  The Town of Pomfret reserves the right to waive all formalities or to reject any or all proposals.

Notice of Public Hearing
FEBRUARY 15, 2012
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7-239, Connecticut General Statutes, the Putnam Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public hearing in the auditorium of the Putnam Middle School, 33 Wicker Street, Putnam, Connecticut, on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at 7:00 p.m., at which time all the users of the waterworks system and the owners of property served or to be served and others interested shall have an opportunity to be heard concerning the following proposed rate increases for residential, commercial and industrial users: Effective 1/1/12 a 50% increase; Effective 7/1/12 a 15% increase; Effective 7/1/13 a 10% increase; Effective 7/1/14 a 5% increase; and Effective 7/1/15 a 5% increase.  A 2.5% increase each of the dates listed above for service related fees and charges.
A copy of the existing rates and proposed rates are on file in the Mayor’s Office, the Town Clerk’s Office and the WPCA Office, and are available for public inspection during normal business hour.
