Robert J. Malone,
father of 2
WOODSTOCK — Robert J. Malone, 53, of Woodstock, died Jan. 30, 2012 at home, after a short battle with cancer.
He was born in Springfield, Mass., spending the last 20 years in Woodstock. He worked at Barnes Aerospace in Windsor for the past 20 years. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle spirit of a man. He was a great fan of the Patriots, loved the beach.
He leaves his wife of 28 years, Lynn Malone; son Mathew; daughter Kelly; mother-in-law Jeanne Blair of Winter Garden, Fla.; father, Thomas Malone of Agawam; sister Maureen Duquette (Don) of Agawam, Mass. He was predeceased by his mother Olga Malone and his brother Tom Malone.
A Memorial Service was Feb. 4 at the Evangelical Covenant Church, Woodstock. Donations: Evangelical Covenant Church-Missions Fund, Child Hill Road, Woodstock, CT 06281. Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam.
Cecile DuPont,

THOMPSON — Cecile DuPont, 89, of Thompson died Jan. 31, 2012, at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam after a long battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Leonard DuPont, who died April 14, 1988.
She was born Oct. 3, 1922, in Thompson, daughter of the late Paul and Anita (Audette) Aucoin. Cecile was a lifelong resident of Thompson. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Thompson, a member of the Ladies of St. Ann and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Cecile loved crocheting, reading, trips to Foxwoods Casino, playing cards with her friends.
She leaves her daughters, Claire Tinker (companion Peter Lukin) of Woodstock, Anita Santerre (Michael) of Putnam; brother Leo Aucoin of Southbridge; sister and best friend Dorothy Bates of Thompson; grandchildren Michelle Jodrey (Walter), David Santerre.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 11, 2012, in the St Joseph Church, N. Grosvenordale , with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Donations: Hospice of NECT, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260. Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam.
Everett Mayhew,
WWII vet
PUTNAM — Everett E. Mayhew, 92 of Bibeault Street, died Feb. 1, 2012, at home. He was the husband of Lillian Irene (Johansen) Mayhew. They were married Jan. 31, 1942, in the Brandy Hill Baptist Church, Thompson. She died April 2, 2001.
He was born Feb. 1, 1920, in Thompson, son of the late William M. and Clarabelle (Hall) Mayhew. He worked over 33 years as a cable splicer for Southern New England Telephone. He was a veteran of WWII, serving six years with the U.S. Navy, honorably discharged Sept. 11, 1945.
He had made his home in Putnam all of his life, was an active member of the Congregational Church of Putnam, serving as deacon, trustee and moderator. He enjoyed playing Dart Ball with the local Dart Ball League and was an avid golfer, a longtime member of Quinnatisset Country Club, and the Putnam VFW 1523, CT Union of Telephone Workers and Quinebaug Valley Seniors Citizens of Brooklyn.
He leaves two daughters: Judith Nielsen of Yarmouth, Maine; Marietta Caye of Putnam, grandchildren Heidi Nielsen, Eric Nielsen, Leif Nielsen and Sarah Migneault. He was predeceased by his siblings: Raymond Mayhew, Dorothy Bond, Russell Mayhew, Esther Halainen.
A Memorial Service will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 19 in the Congregational Church of Putnam downtown, with burial in Grove Street Cemetery with military honors. James Perry,
WWII vet
EASTFORD — James Lawrence Perry, 84, of Centre Pike, died Jan. 31, 2012.
He was the husband of Betty (French) Perry. They were married Oct. 30, 1948.
He was born Feb. 2, 1927, in Deland, Fla., son of Edwin and Addy (Daniels) Perry. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army. He had made his home in the Eastford- Woodstock area most of his life. James owned and operated the ARCO/ Mobil Service Station in Sturbridge, Mass., for over 40 years. He was a talented musician, a skilled wood crafter, had a great love for the out of doors and enjoyed his walks in the woods. James and his wife vacationed in Winter Haven, Fla., for several years and in 1989 made it their winter home.
He leaves, in addition, to his wife of 62 years, his children James L. Perry Jr. of Hudson, Mass., Edwin Clifford Perry Sr. (Pamela) of Woodstock, Audrey Blash III (Peter) of Southbridge; siblings Gerald Racine of Woodstock, Marilyn Williams of Danielson; Natalie Freeman of Woodstock; grandchildren: Edwin C. Perry Jr, Peter Blash IV, James Perry Blash, Sarah Betty Blash, Julia Marie Blash; two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Helen Joan Blash; siblings, Fred Racine, Charles Racine, Robert Racine and Jacqueline Plante.

Gilberte Rivard,

CHARLTON — Gilberte (Begin) Rivard, 89, formerly of Charlton and Webster died Feb. 4, 2012, at the Kindred Transititional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Westborough, Mass.
She was born in Coaticook, Canada and lived here most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Maxime and Amanda (Bolduc) Begin.
She was the wife of the late Henry Rivard. She leaves a son, Joseph M. Martin of Putnam; a sister Florette Donovan of Canada; three grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
Services were private with burial in Canada. Donations: Any Alzheimer’s organization. Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, Webster.
Henry Robert Booth,
Navy aviator
BROOKLYN — Henry Robert “Bob” Booth, husband of Virginia Booth, died Feb. 3, 2012 at Westview Health Care Center.
He was born Sept. 28, 1922, in Seattle, to Henry and Georgy Landsborough Booth. His great-grandfather, General William Booth, founded the Salvation Army in 1865. His father was in the textile business selling fabrics to tailors all over the Seattle area. In 1930, Bob moved with his family to Bronxville N.Y., so his father could commute to New York City to work in the textile business.
In 1942, Bob entered Trinity College. After a year and a half, he was called for service with his Connecticut V-5 aviation group. After completing his Navy pre-flight training at Rensselaer Polytechnic, he then went to Glenview, Chicago for more Navy flying and training. He received his wings in Pensacola in 1945. Bob loved being a part of the Navy where he flew the Corsair.
Bob married Virginia Wagoner, in 1956. They lived the rest of their lives at Hillandale Farm in Brooklyn. Bob took over operations of his father’s business at the farm which was producing hand woven wool fabrics. He opened a retail outlet on the premises which featured a PhotoMetric fitting room (invented by his father Henry) which provided custom tailoring until the mid 1970s.
Bob and Jimmie Booth opened The Golden Lamb Buttery restaurant in 1963 in a barn on their property where Bob was the consummate host for 40 years. The restaurant is still being operated today by his granddaughter, Katie.
He leaves sons, H.Robert Booth Jr. (Darlene Baker) of Brooklyn and James Booth (Jacqueline) of Brooklyn; sisters Joanne Smith of Hanover, N.H., and Nancy Goodwin of Banner Wy.; three grandchildren. He was predeceased by wife Virginia Booth; son Todd Whitney Booth; sister Catherine Karlen and twin sister, Elizabeth Hodde.
A Memorial Service will be held in the spring. Tillinghast Funeral Home, Danielson.
Rhonda Jezerski,

WEBSTER — Rhonda (Michaud) Jezerski, 46, of Kingsbury Road, died Jan. 30, 2012.
She was born in Nashua, N.H., daughter of the late James and Edith (Piper) Michaud. She was a graduate of Leominster (Mass.) High School. She enjoyed martial arts and motorcycles, and was a member of a Drum & Bugle Corps. and Joanett’s Drum and Bugle Corps. Rhonda was a retail clerk.
She leaves her husband, Michael A. Jezerski of Webster; two daughters, Cynthia Johnson of Webster and Kasandra Johnson of Oxford, Mass.; a stepdaughter, Chelsea Jezerski of Webster; many relatives in Thompson.
A Prayer Service was Feb. 8 at Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, Webster. Donations: American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
