The Putnam High School girls' basketball team took the lead 27-6 at halftime against Abbott Tech Feb. 3 and never looked back as the final score was 50-21.
Leading scorers in the game were Ashley Espinosa with 15, Christie Austin with 10 and Makenzi Kaylor had 9 to go along with eight from Monica Phongsa
Records: Putnam 13-4, 7-3 in CSC, Abbott is 2-15 overall
The next game is Feb. 9 vs. New London High School. It will be PINK Night to honor Breast Cancer Awareness — Dress in Pink!
On Feb. 1 at Parish Hill, the Clippers led from start to finish as they jumped out to an 11-6 first quarter lead. At halftime the score was 19-6 and 26-10 at the end of three quarters.
The team had an excellent performance from Ashley Espinosa with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Monica Phongsa had eight points including two three-pointers. Christie Austin’s five points and six rebounds went along with Makenzi Kaylor’s and Holly Desrosiers’s five points each.
Parish Hill’s record is 10-6 and 6-4 in the CSC.
