Jazz Band

Bottle Drive

POMFRET --- The Connecticut Audubon Society at Pomfret Center will present "Expressive Landscapes," large-scale acrylics by Muriel Miller through Feb. 29 at the new Grassland Bird Conservation Center on Day Road. Free. Portion of sales benefits the center. 928-4948.

Spaghetti Dinner
PUTNAM --- The Putnam High School Music Department will host a fund-raising spaghetti dinner/cabaret from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the Putnam High School Cafeteria. Entertainment provided by the band, chorus & special guests. Takeout available. $8 for adults; $6 for senior citizens and kids under 10. Camper Game Day
POMFRET --- The Windham-Tolland 4-H Camp at 326 Taft Pond Road is having Camper Game Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for prospective campers and returning campers, ages 6-12. N. GROSVENORDALE --- A Relay For Life team fund-raiser will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. at 372 Fabyan Road with items from Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, Party Lite, Mixed Bag Designs and Touch Stone jewelry featuring Swarovski Elements.
Cake Competition
HARTFORD --- The Connecticut Cake Competition and Cake Challenge will be held Feb. 18 and 19 in the Connecticut Convention Center. The theme is "The Great Outdoors." DANIELSON --- TEEG, along with Healthquest, a working group of the Northeast District Department of Health and the Northeast Food Policy Council, are sponsoring a forum on the 2012 Farm Bill: What Does the Farm Bill Mean to Me? from 4 to 6 p.m. at Quinebaug Valley Community College. Garden Show
HARTFORD --- The UConn Soil Testing Lab will take part in the Connecticut Flower and Garden show at the Connecticut Convention Center Feb. 23 through 26. The hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 23, 24 and 25 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 26. They will do free soil pH testing. Bring 1/2 cup of soil. Free gardening handouts.
