PUTNAM — The Putnam Clippers pulled out a 55-53 squeaker in overtime Feb. 9, beating New London.
Highlights: Ashley Espinosa led Putnam with 29 points and 12 rebounds. She hit two free throws with 10 seconds left in regulation to tie the game and send it to overtime.
In overtime Monica Phongsa (10 pts.) hit a three-pointer to put Putnam up five with one minute left. Christie Austin (17 rebounds) hit a free throw with 15 seconds left in overtime to put Putnam up by 4.
New London was led by Deanna McCarvill with 19 points. She fouled out late in the fourth quarter.
