DANIELSON — The Arc of Quinebaug Valley is kicking off its “Elevating Education~ The Power to Transform Lives” Capital Campaign. The goal is $250,000 in gifts and pledges over a five-year period.
The funds will be used to install an elevator at the Cook Hill Road Office, Education and Training Center that will allow The Arc to provide full accessibility to all people with life-affecting disabilities. These funds will also go toward services that enable individuals with disabilities to live full and productive lives.
Susan Desrosiers, executive director, said, “As we celebrate 60 years of service in this community it seemed like the perfect time to initiate this campaign. The Arc’s rich history of quality programs and caring supports has earned us the respect and appreciation of our community. The Arc of Quinebaug Valley, Inc. is committed to supporting individuals (and their families) with intellectual, developmental and other life-affecting disabilities.”
The general chairpersons of the Capital Campaign are Jason and Amy St. Onge, owners of The G Seven Catering Company in Thompson. State representative Daniel Rovero, and his wife Judy are serving as honorary chairpersons of the campaign.
Assisting the St. Onges as vice chairpersons are Jeffrey Rawson and Jessica DiZazzo of Putnam. The leadership team includes: Gene Michael Deary, chairperson of the Major Gifts Division; Joshua Peach, chairperson of the Corporate and Finance Division; Lynne Bourque, chairperson of Community Giving; Terence Chambers, chairperson of Family/Staff Division; and Pamela Brown, chairperson of Social/Public Relations Division.
