POMFRET — Although many schools will be shutting down for the summer, The Rectory School will be up and running, with a new director at the helm of its Summer@Rectory program, Colleen O’Neil.
“I am delighted to take on the role of director of Summer@Rectory. I have been involved for the past five years. It is an amazing program that enriches students academically, promotes teamwork, encourages participation in recreation while providing an opportunity to help new students become acclimated to Rectory,” she said.
Summer@Rectory is a four-week program beginning June 25 that offers boys and girls from around the country and world a fun, educational, and adventurous experience.
Curriculum courses include everything from reading, English, mathematics, science, and life skills to the arts and Rectory’s Individualized Instructional Program. Students also participate in afternoon activities, which include drama, musical theater, FOCUS groups, team competitions, and sports clinics. As many students reside on campus O’Neil said, “I encourage students who are entering Rectory in the fall to attend Summer@Rectory in order to become familiar with both the campus and the faculty.”
