Academy proposed
budget adopted
WOODSTOCK — Woodstock Academy Superintendent/Headmaster Kim Caron announced the academy’s Board of Trustees adopted a proposed operating budget for the 2012/13 school year. It calls for a 1.95 percent increase for the total tuition revenue “necessary to sustain academy programs and services for the 2012/13 school year.”
The total of $12,997,557 is an increase of $248,389 over the current school year. The budget reflects a decrease of $133,939 or negative 1.09 percent in total tuition revenue needed from sending towns to maintain programs for academy students. The student tuition for sending districts for 2012/13 is $11,699.
“A significant advancement in budget development for 2012/13 was the value added factor of our private tuition and international programs. While our international program enhances an Academy education for all students by providing opportunities for a more global experience, it also augments operating revenue. This additional private revenue enables the Academy to sustain programs and services for all students, provide staffing levels necessary to support educational excellence, and maintain reasonable costs for our sending districts,” he said.
